Slipping and sliding and perhaps climbing

To be honest, Playing Splinterlands is really fun and it really changed my ways because it not only gave me a full-time gaming experience but also provided me the much-needed hive and hive power through writing about it.

You might wonder why hive power is needed. As Splinterlands is based on the Hive platform, hive is the foundation and if you have Hive power, you never need to worry about resource credits and such stuff.

So, back to the title. Here I was, a simple gamer who enjoys playing and reached champion 3 last season and this season too, quite early but to my dismay, I kept getting defeated by bots and slipped really low, came back again, and slipped.

Should I have stopped playing for a while after reaching the highest league?

I could not resist playing as I wanted to battle against another champion player but it is what it is. I am not sure if I will be able to reach Champion 3 again before the season ends as the whole of the bot army seems to be fighting against me. I have rented a few good cards and I hope to get back my investment at least by playing and winning but only the coming hours can tell.

With the new energy rules, it is quite cool to see that we can use it without any strain or fear of the ECR but to buy a pack full of energies in Champion is beyond the 'normal' player.

I have promised myself to stop playing after the season end to replenish the energy bar. I hope I stick to my own plans.

As for the bots, I did learn that they study the patterns of the opponents and choose the team. So, we hooman players have to be double careful when choosing the team to play. Sometimes, I also think -what if another splinter is best and end up choosing the team at the last moment.

I lose more than I win and it is not a good sign of my expertise. I do hope to be better by practicing and then climb to the top.

I was reading the chat in the discord server where someone mentioned not seeing the llama Kron combination anymore in higher leagues and then only I noticed that the team was not even on the list.

What does it mean?

New cards with new abilities tend to replace the old combinations. So, if you are a new player, I would advise you to first rent monsters and then test them out before buying them outright. Investment needs a lot of money and the person who does it has to be sure that he or she will continue to play the game otherwise it could be a loss and some cards could also go down in value.

I remember the Venari Wavesmith for instance being sold for more than three or four dollars per bcx but now it is sold for cents. Study the market before taking the right decisions. I am not discouraging investments but just asking you to test 'drive' before hitting the buy button.

As the energy bar regenerates, I am able to play one battle but because of my interest in the game, I never pause to think about stopping or pausing and keep on playing and it is not to loot the rewards or an eye on the cards or sps. I just love the idea of the Splinterlands game and the way it is played out. I am sure you will agree with me once you start playing.

To whomsoever it may concern

Guys, I used to play seriously from sayee but then transferred all maxed cards to 'filler' which is my son's account, and play there and it is now in KOG cards of Fury guild. I play there and write posts from sayee. I hope it is not a bother to anyone that I play from one account and write on another. I am not doing anything illegal nor do I use any bot because I play like a bot myself 🤣 . This is just for your information and to sl curators who might find it dubious or something but I guess older players do know that sayee and filler are my accounts and I have never botted it.

Still a very good card.
And I remember it being a nuisance before the launch of CL. Then came Obsidian and Brood.

You are right about the current price of the cards.
I remember buying Obsidian at $10 USD per BCX.
It is crazy how it will return back to its high value soon. As long as I do not sell the cards below $10 USD I won't lose anything.
Peace

I did something similar with Oshannus as well and paid quite a bit for a reward card. But I just tell myself, did I use the card heaps since I bought it and did it help me win battles and get rewards? If so, I just treat it as a rental fee and if the price even goes back up by half, I probably broke-even.

A lot of Cards lost value. I hope they will get some value back because the amount of them is limited 😊
