As I confusingly write in my blog here, I am only halfway inactive.

Specifically, I feel like I'm taking a break from official tournaments, leaving the ranked matches to the AMs. Then I play Brawl, SPLTV, and participate in any tournaments I want to attend. That's it.

By the way, multiple accounts are not allowed to compete in this tournament.
Since @azipoon was also competing, I'll just assert for the record that my account and azipoon's account are currently unaffiliated.

Before I touch on tournaments, let me give you a light update.
Since taking a break from Splinterlands, I've tried my hand at three things: programming, writing, and video editing.

Programming was an immediate setback. The reason is that AI is so advanced now that it didn't seem like I could make any money unless I could develop a significant level of skill.
It wasn't a setback, but rather a realization that I would need more time and money to learn. So I passed on it for now. I am undecided if I will do it in the future.

As for video editing, I had made a Splinterlands video before, so I put it in my portfolio and got a few jobs.
The unit price is low because my skills are still low, but it's good to think that I can get paid while training myself.
Above all, it's a lot of fun. I wanted to master this.

I recently felt that I need writing skills in order to produce videos by myself in the future.

Even if I become a director in the future, I need to have at least a few key points in order to do my job.

I think I am more of a creator by nature, and I felt that it would be troublesome to have the pace of my work dictated by the client or director, so I wanted to become a video editor who can also write scenarios on my own.

So now I spend my days doing video editing and scenario writing, studying, and researching trendy videos.

「ぼくは引退してません！！」

こちらのブログで紛らわしい書き方をしていますが、活動を半分休止しているだけ。

具体的には、ランクマッチをAMに任せて、公式トーナメントをお休みしている感じ。そしてBrawl、SPLTVをプレイし、参加したい大会があったら参加する。それだけだ。

正直こんなに注目されると思ってなかったんだ。
あまり深く考えず、深く決めず、行き当たりばったりな発言も多い。
だから矛盾があったら今のぼくの意見が正しいということにしておいてほしい！

そういえば、この大会は複数アカウントでの出場は禁止されている。
@azipoonも出場していたから、念のためぼくとazipoonアカウントは現在無関係だということを主張しておこう。

@azirconのこの記事を読めば、今@demon19という女性がazipoonを操作していることがわかるだろう。私はこのゲームに完全復帰するまでazipoonアカウントにログインできない状態だ。

トーナメントのことに触れる前に軽く近況報告をしよう。
Splinterlandsの活動を休止してから、プログラミング、ライティング、動画編集の3つに挑戦してみた。

プログラミングはすぐに挫折した。今はAIが発達していて相当なレベルの技術が付かないとお金にならなそうだったからだ。
挫折というか、もっと時間とお金に余裕がないと学べる気がしないと悟ったのだ。だから今はパスした。今後やるかは未定。

動画編集はSplinterlandsの動画を以前作っていたので、それをポートフォリオにしたらいくつか仕事をもらうことができた。
まだスキルが低いので単価は低いが、修行しながらお金がもらえると思えばいいものだ。
何より、すごく楽しい。これを極めていきたいと思った。

今後動画を自分で制作するためにもライティングの技術が必要だと感じたのが最近のこと。

将来的にディレクターになるとしても最低限のポイントは押さえておかないと仕事にならない。

ぼくはどちらかというとクリエイター気質だと思うし、発注者やディレクターに仕事のペースを左右されるのは面倒だと感じたので、自分でシナリオも書ける動画編集者になりたいと思った。

だから今、動画編集やシナリオライティングの仕事をやったり、勉強したり、流行りの動画を研究して、毎日を過ごしているよ。

And splinterlands is a card game, with lots of random elements.
There are situations where skill alone won't help.

I can lose without Dr.Bright activating his abilities almost effectively, even though he is listed as having a 100% chance of winning,

Sometimes I get lucky and win with a team that can't come up with a plan until time runs out and I just fill up my mana in a hurry.

By the way, the site where you can see this winning percentage is called splintertool. A very useful site for getting stronger.

To be honest, I don't have any particular strategy to win.
I just observe how my opponents play in this tournament, feel their habits, and am a little better at predicting what cards they will choose. Maybe.
It was the same at Splinterfest 2022. I seriously observed my opponent's battle history.
Sometimes you can clearly see what your opponent is likely to think.

It just takes a lot of concentration.

That's why I was so tired in the quarterfinals and put together such a team.
For some reason, I thought I was playing in the Bronze League now.

So I chose CABALIST, which has the Amplify ability even in the Bronze League.

But the gall to step up to the plate there and regain focus.
This was the difference between winning and losing.

The trick to winning a tournament, if I had to say so, is to play every day to cultivate your concentration, or to demonstrate the ability to regain it even when your concentration lapses.

I did pick it back up, but Dr.Bright didn't do the job and I was down 2-2.

Finally, I decided that since I had 14 mana, even if they attacked me with magic, I could take it with HAUNTED SPIRIT. So I was wary of melee attacks.

There were no samoners, and the sneak countermeasures were pointless, but the match went as I had planned.
I can say that this was a victory that I won completely on my own merit.
Of course, my winning percentage is 100%.

MVP goes to HAUNTED SPIRIT who saved the day and played a big role in the finals!
The most successful monster, though, was QUORA TOWERSHEAD. That guy is crazy. She is too strong and must play an active role.

結果的に優勝してruniを手に入れたのはとても喜ばしいことだ！

しかし実はこのトーナメントの前日ueyueyにシルバーワイルドの練習をさせてもらったんだが、20回くらい戦って2回しか勝てなかった。もちろん運が悪くて負けた試合もあるがそんなのせいぜい1回か2回だった。

しばらくやらないだけで、こんなにも勝てなくなるものなのか？と絶望していた。

やはり普段からバトルヘルパープレイヤーや高性能botとランクマッチで戦い死線を潜り抜けている猛者だ。面構えが違う...！

このueyueyとの特訓のおかげでぼくのプレイの鈍りは一瞬で解消された！
しかしぼくは一方的に学ばせてもらい、ぼくから彼に与えられるものは何もなかった。悲しい。
今度会ったら牛丼とビールをおごらないといけないかもしれないな。

そして、splinterlandsはカードゲームであり、ランダム要素もたくさんある。
スキルだけではどうにもならない場面がある。

勝率100％と表記されているのに、Dr.Brightがほとんど有効にアビリティを発動させずに負けたり、

時間切れまで策が思いつかず、慌ててマナを埋め合わせただけのチームで運良く勝ってしまったりするんだ。

ちなみにこの勝率が見れるサイトはsplintertoolという。強くなるためにはとても便利なサイト。

正直、勝つための戦略とかは特にない。
ぼくは相手のこのトーナメントでの戦い方を観察して、手癖を感じて、相手の選ぶカードを予測して戦うのが他の人より上手くできるだけだ。多分ね。

ただこれにはとても集中力がいる。

だから準々決勝は疲れてこんなチームを組んでしまった。
なぜかブロンズリーグで戦っていると思い込んでしまった。

それでブロンズリーグでもアンプリファイのアビリティを持っているCABALISTを選んでしまったんだ。

しかし、そこで踏ん張って集中力を取り戻す胆力。
これが勝負の分かれ目だった。

トーナメントで勝つコツを強いて言うなら毎日プレイして集中力を養うか、集中力が切れても持ち直す力を発揮するのがコツだ。

持ち直したがDr.Brightが仕事せず、2-2になってしまった。

最後は14マナだから魔法で攻められてもHAUNTED SPIRITで受けきれると判断して、近接攻撃を警戒した。

これは完全にぼくの実力で勝ち取った勝利と言っていいだろう。
サモナーは機能してないし、スニーク対策も無意味だった。
しかし、そこにリソースを割いても勝てると見込める経験値と感覚こそこのゲームのスキルだろう。
もちろん勝率は100％だ。

窮地を救ってくれ、決勝戦でも大活躍したHAUNTED SPIRITをMVPとした！
一番活躍したのはQUORA TOWERSHEADだけどね。あいつはおかしい。強すぎるので活躍するに決まっている。

Finally, this picture really surprised me.
It was the first time I knew I had so much support. I felt it.
I knew I definitely needed to get back in the game.

I was really happy when I saw so much support and praise for me in the comments section of SPLTV!

This helped me to revive myself again after a lapse in concentration.

The power of support is amazing. It is no exaggeration to say that I could have won thanks to all of you.

At the very least, if it weren't for everyone's support, I would have stopped at runner-up again. I felt like I wanted to live up to their expectations no matter what it took.

The fact that Battle Helpers were banned in the tournament allowed me to put my skills to use in identifying people's quirks and predicting the cards they would pick.

The support allowed me to bring my concentration and conditions to the best of my ability.

When I look back and review my battles, I reflect on how messy they still are. Or rather, I can say that it was precisely because I was not perfect that I was able to fight a passionate battle with a human touch.

If it were a tournament where battle helpers and bots were allowed, this kind of drama would not happen.

The stamina of concentration, the courage to regain balance after losing it, the conditions on the day, the dramatic to win by copying the team of the opponent from yesterday, and so on...! And so on.

Battle helpers and bots are inorganic, unrelated to such phenomena.

Each and every one of them has various dramas. The result is a combination of those dramas.
I think that's why everyone is moved and feels the game is fun.

最後にこの写真は本当に驚いた。
自分がこんなに応援されていることを初めて知った。感じた。
これは絶対ゲームに戻ってくる必要があると思った。

SPLTVのコメント欄からぼくへの応援や称える言葉がたくさん流れた時、本当に嬉しかったんだ！

これがあったから集中力が途切れてもまた復活させることができた。

やはり応援の力はすごい。ぼくはみんなのおかげで勝てたと言っても過言ではないと言えるよ。

少なくともみんなが応援してくれなきゃまた準優勝で止まっていたと思う。だって、なんとしても期待に応えたいという気持ちになったから。

バトルヘルパーが禁止されたトーナメントだからこそ、ぼくは人のクセを見抜いて選ぶカードを予測するスキルを発揮させることができた。

応援のおかげで一度下がった集中力やコンディションを最高の状態に持っていくことができた。

振り返って自分の戦いを見直してみると、まだまだ雑な戦いをしていると反省してしまう。いやむしろ、完璧じゃないからこそ人間味のある熱い戦いができたと言える。

もしバトルヘルパーやbotが許されたトーナメントだったらこういったドラマは起こらないだろう。

集中力のスタミナ、バランスを崩しても持ち直す勇気、当日のコンディション、昨日戦った相手のチームを真似して勝てた！というドラマティックな展開など・・・。

バトルヘルパーとbotはそういった現象とは無縁で無機質だ。

1人1人に様々なドラマがある。そのドラマが重なって、結果が出る。
だからみんな感動するし、ゲームが楽しいと感じるんじゃないかな。
