Will there be a tomorrow for manual players?
It's been a little while until this update because I just couldn't bring myself to write an article lately.
I was going to write some strategy information, but I couldn't win any ranked matches or tournaments, and I lost a little confidence in myself.
I'm a very disciplined person who doesn't want to teach others if I don't have confidence in myself.
I am not the only one who is fed up with this.
I'm sure all manual players are the same way.
Yes, the battle helper by xbot that has been talked about recently is too powerful....
It is no exaggeration to say that it is a cheat tool.
Especially in the Champion League, there are countless abilities, and it takes an endless amount of time for human processing power to catch up with the machine to find the best solution.
In the case of a fighting game, it is like performing a very difficult combo that takes a year of practice to master with the touch of a button.
In the case of FPS and TPS, it is like a cheat tool with an auto-aim function.
If someone were to use such a tool in an update-type game in Japan, it would be a matter of course that their account would be immediately banned, but splinterlands is letting it go unchecked.
I find that hard to believe.
However, splinterlands is one of the leading NFT games in the Web3 era.
I guess they can't take centralized action so easily.
Maybe they haven't banned it for reasons beyond my imagination.
However, if the xbot-dominated environment continues, I will eventually grow tired of it.
You may say that if I don't like it, I should just quit, but there is a reason why I can't quit so easily.
For me, this game has given me so many memories and encounters. That's why I hope it will continue to grow and I will continue to play it for a long time.

攻略情報などを書こうと思ったが、ランクマッチもトーナメントも中々勝つことができず、少し自信を失っていたからだ。

うんざりしているのはぼくだけではないはず。
マニュアルプレイヤーのみんなもそうではないだろうか？
そう、最近話題のxbotによるバトルヘルパーが強すぎる・・・。
あれは最早チートツールといっても過言ではないだろう。
特にチャンピオンリーグについてはアビリティが無数にあるため、最適解を導くのに人間の処理能力で機械に追いつくのは果てしない時間を要する。
格闘ゲームでいえば、1年間練習して使えるようになる激むずコンボをボタン1つで行えるようなものだ。
FPSやTPSでいえば自動エイム機能を搭載したチートツールのようなものだ。
そんなツール、日本のアップデート型ゲームで使っている人がいたら、即アカウントBANされるなんて当たり前なのに、splinterlandsは野放しにしている。
それはぼくとしては信じられないことだ。
しかし、splinterlandsはWeb3時代を代表するNFTゲームの1つである。
簡単に中央集権的な行動は起こせないのだろう。
もしかしたらぼくの想像には及ばない理由で禁止していないのかもしれない。
しかし、このままxbotに支配された環境が続くのであればぼくはそのうち愛想が尽きるだろう。
嫌なら早くやめろと言われるかもしれないが、簡単にはやめられない理由がある。
ぼくにとってこのゲームは本当にたくさんの思い出や出会いをいただいた。だからこそ、発展してほしいと思うし末永くプレイしていきたいと思っている。

「また、バトルに勝ちたい場合はチートツールをご購入してください！」
とアナウンスされることが初心者への最大の配慮となるようなゲームは果たして面白いだろうか？

First of all, let's not think about using battle helpers ourselves.
I believe that those who have not used them to date are those who intend not to use them in the future.

But when you win by your own strength, it is exhilarating!
I don't see what the fun is in using battle helpers to win in the first place.
If they want to make money, wouldn't it be more efficient to do a normal job?
These people will eventually get bored and withdraw.
But new CHEATERS will appear again.
In the meantime, the number of manual players will decrease rapidly.
I think we should create an environment where people will be glad that they continued to be manual players even under such circumstances.
It is still difficult for me to create such an environment.
However, I would like to gradually raise sponsorship funds and hold a tournament where battle helpers are completely banned.
We will also stop inviting xbot registered players to the international team competitions that we have been holding.
In the future, I would like to hold regular events like the ZenSports tournaments that we used to hold, and give everyone a reason to continue to be manual players.

その分自分の力で勝てた時は爽快だ！
そもそもバトルヘルパーを使って勝ったところで、その人は何が楽しいのかわからない。
稼ぎたいなら普通に仕事したほうが効率良くないかな？
こういう人たちはそのうち飽きて撤退していくだろう。
しかし新しくまたcheaterは現れる。
その間にマニュアルプレイヤーはどんどん減っていくだろう。
ぼくはこんな状況でもがんばってマニュアルプレイヤーを続けてよかったと思えるような環境を作るべきだと思った。
ぼくの力ではまだまだその環境を作ることは難しい。
しかし、これから徐々に協賛金を集め、バトルヘルパーを完全に禁止した大会を開催していきたい。
今まで行ってきた国際チーム戦も今後xbot登録者は招待しないことにする。
将来的に以前行われていたZenSportsが開催する大会のようなイベントを定期的に開催し、みんながマニュアルプレイヤーであり続ける理由を作りたいんだ。
ぼくは今それが実現できるように動いている。

I'm with you in this, @schnapoon. This past season has been extremely difficult, even more than the past two since the change in the energy system. I used to get easily with my deck up to Gold I in both formats. Now, I barely got in Gold III in Modern yesterday, and I'm struggling to reach Gold II in Modern. Unbelievable! Just for clarification, I don't consider myself by any means a great player, and of course, I never dare to compare myself with the elite players like you. It's just that I feel your frustration of not being able to win a single game, not because they had a better deck, or because they are better than me, but because they play their account with these flawless battle helpers. I still love to play, and I usually have good challenges and enjoy to play with my friends, but rank and tournaments are disheartening nowadays. I agree on this one. I am a player of splinterlands since August 2021 and played into champ in January 2022 and stayed there because I enjoy the game more playing there. As for me I don't owned cards cause I only rent to play. I rent cards that are useful in my own way and it depends on my performance in rank if I can take back the expense that I got from renting and have a little profit for myself. As of now, as champion/diamond been flooded by bots and as their getting stronger overtime, my performance is getting bad and especially having a limited game because of the energy system, every win counts and if I lose most of that game. I can't take back the expense of renting. So my other option would be tournaments. I don't know if they are botting or real player who used battle helper, but either way I'm also having a hard time going in to round 2 due to the fact that I'm losing quite a lot. So basically its getting harder and harder for me and others who just rent cards also to stay competitive in this situation. But I do really hope that the passing proposal that they will ban bots in modern be implemented.

I am impressed to hear that none of the ST members are using Battle Helper. Unfortunately, I was disappointed because it is becoming a bit popular among SS members.
I am wondering if that suggestion really makes sense.
I think we can ban bots, but not battle helpers.
Battle helpers are worse than bots.
Because humans can think slowly while looking at the clues that the bot chooses.
It would be like cheating on a test.
Anyone can win if you do that. But you will never know the real fun of this game.

I completely agree with this and the sentiments expressed. It just keeps getting harder and harder for actual players :( I hope we find an avenue for manual players going forward too, and decentralization doesn't mean there are no rules...

The Silver League is something I've finally learned to deal with recently, as I now know how the battle helpers like to fight.
However, I cannot fight against battle helpers in the Champion League.
Only a few geniusly smart players can fight them properly. I am a player who has managed to do this through luck and hard work, so it will be some time before I can beat the Battle Helpers.
And even if I do manage to win, they will be even stronger. I would like to end such weasel words here.
Hello @schnapoon! I hope you are doing well. I was so excited to attend Splinterfest and join a new community. It has really turned disheartening as of late. I was learning and growing my skills to be more competitive. I look forward to tournaments. I play in several tournaments in the bronze and silver league. Who really knows.. but one thing is for sure it feels almost like we have lost the ability to play with other people in this game. I really hope things turn around.. I have met so many great people through this community and looked forward to expanding that network.

You are having fun and honing your skills which is great! But if you take away the fun of honing your skills, that's just suffering, isn't it?
The game is full of players who use cheats, so the number of healthy players is dwindling. Then the cheaters will be matched with cheaters and you will have a 50% chance of winning. Finally, there will be no one left... I'm afraid that the future will come if things continue as they are.
Yes I am aware it is very sad. I completely agree with people wanting to play people in the game no bots...
You are so right my friend! We must get back to 1v1 human gameplay if SPLINTERLANDS "the game" wants to survive. But I'm working on something that can hopefully get us back there, stay tuned 👍

Battle Helpers are bad because they are human play.
Of course I think the bot should be gone, but it could work for the development of this game as long as it doesn't monopolize LB.
Let's both work hard to make it a good direction!

Of course I also want to see battle helpers completely removed from player use and access...but how do you expect to ban them?
I can't think of a way that you could completely ban someone from using them, apart from maybe having 2 players sit at two computers across from each other, while 2 referees check that each player isn't using a battle helper on their respective computer. For eSports gaming live-tournaments held at a physical location, this would be feasible...but online?
Even if you can somehow make it that the device that's currently playing the game, blocks or bans battle helpers somehow for that device, the person could just forego this measure with a second device (like a tablet or cell phone) that they access the BH from externally.
The only thing I can really still think of, that may be a viable solution, would be to demand that companies distributing third party software that is accessing Splinterlands via the API connection, be forced to accept an agreement to not offer battle helpers through their services.
That would then only leave the ability to access battle helpers "offline" through an application that can't directly access the data of the games' blockchain entries. It would theoretically still be possible to set up a battle helper in this situation, but everything would be manual data integration at that point, which may not be a worthwhile business venture.
That's a great question, I'm not sure that it's possible or that there is a fair way to do that.
Xbot has created a way that SPL can ban the battle helper use from tournaments by inserting a specific key into the tournament setup. It's been discussed on Discord. That could be a start, although it would only stop the Xbot and not any others.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, schnapoon. I feel the same feeling as you do. It's very hard to believe that most of players in Splinterlands are booting. Ranked battle, tournament, and brawl as well. What makes it worse that the bot is always evolving and become better day by day. I've heard from someone in discord that there's no solution to battle helper. well it makes me even more sad.
Thanks for your initiative regular events like the ZenSports tournaments, it will appreciate players who keep playing manually. I will re-blog and upvoted 100% all of your posts regarding that one. all my support is for you for it. what I am thinking at the moment is just keep practicing because someday, I really want to win splinterfest by my hand.

If there really is no solution to Battle Helper, I think this game will either fade away or all players will play with Battle Helper in their hands.
Even if I have to coexist with Battle Helper temporarily, I will soon get bored with it, sell all my card assets and play other games.
It is also difficult to organize offline events like splinterfest, and I would like to find out what it means for you all to be manual players while taking some measures!

Great article. Thank you for writing this. I have noticed as a manual player that the last two seasons were tougher than normal. I think the implementation of the three rulesets has given a huge advantage to bots over manual players based on the amount of variation that needs to be considered in such a short time. The bots have gotten better much faster than I can certainly keep up.

Yes, xbot and BH are taking the fun out of manual players. The fun of winning, the fun of discovering new rules strategies, the fun of discovering new ways to use new cards, etc.
For me, xbot has certainly made this game a game I would not recommend to friends.
As a player with an XBOT token now, I agree with your sentiments and many others as well. I have been playing for almost 2 years now. The player DNA in me was really frustrated for a long time facing bot farms and private bots -- draining the rewards intended for real players.
I WAS manually playing my account and really love every battle I face. I was playing in Diamond to Champion League before. I saved battle replays to look into it in the future. I moved down to silver since the soul-bound reward cards update because it was not sustainable for me as a renter to play at the higher league without liquid rewards.
The time I got the token is when I was so really busy with life that I don't have the energy or time to play anymore and will choose to rest whenever I got home. I still manually play on weekends but not too much. I use to play for loooooong hours until my energy runs dry. (Good ol' ECR days! <3 ) I have been building my modern silver deck constantly even if it takes me longer to complete it. I am really looking forward to NO BOTS MODERN update. I want to play on that format. I love this game and really want to match with real players that I really look up into. I just don't have any idea when will this be implemented. I hope soon.
First of all, thank you for writing your opinion here even though you are an xbot user.
My personal opinion is that using battle helpers and using xbot is cheating. So I have no sympathy for you for whatever reason. However, if I were to judge from my own good and evil, I think the real evil is the xbot and the splinterlands that let it go unchecked.
The idea that you use a bot because you are frustrated by it means that you are using it when you can imagine that others would be just as frustrated and emotional. I think it's not good of you to use xbot because you know that.
If you don't have time, why did you choose xbot instead of Archmage?
I think there was a personal interest there. They don't charge a fee. It contributes more to winning. There are many advantages of xbot such as.
I use AM when I am busy. However, even with my card assets, AM is only strong enough to be in the 10~20.
I AM a fan of players who don't actually play because I don't think they should stand out.
I also think that a private bot would have a lot of trouble with the effort and funding to create it, and the maintenance after it is updated.
With that in mind, there will not be many private bot users and they will be digging into the red. For me, there is no reason to stop people who want to win from sticking with a bot to that extent.
I think they are making an effort, albeit a bad one.
But it's not a good idea to start up a service to expand it horizontally. Those who use it are just joining in the evil and being exploited, and creating a structure where those who are not involved are further deprived of enjoyment and exploited.
Once you use xbot, you get addicted to it and your skills will drop so much that the more you use it, the more you will be afraid to play manually.
I have seen players who say that and can no longer play the game themselves. I hope you meant what you said at the end.

Reasons:
I bought the token at $50 and ArchmageA token was higher at that time and has fees. I need to focus mostly on my on-field work and my next goal of getting engaged that will limit my time and energy playing the game. By these, it pushed me to try automated services. Just like you, I use XBot when I'm really busy. I still do manual battles but not like before where I can drain my ECR below 0 over and over again. Using battle helpers in Ranked is pointless because it very expensive and does not justify the DEC required versus the SPS gained per battle win. I also rent most of the cards for grinding. I do hope SPL does have an option in their practice mode to try custom battles with complete cards.
I still consider myself as a real gamer. I really like the game which I wished that I have discovered it in 2018. When I was new to the game, whenever I won against players with titles and top players, I feel so happy. I'm sorry if you felt cheated. I felt cheated too before. I get your frustration and I am frustrated too. If I have my opinion, I want the battle to be interactive and disable battle helpers in modern during the implementation of no bots modern. I also want to have a PVE mode where players can only gain their focus/season points in PVE mode. PVP/Ranked Mode will be just for leaderboards which only gives/takes ratings.
Again, I am really looking forward to no bots modern format. I want to get to feel that excitement of battling and beating top human players again. I don't care if I will not be able to reach leaderboards, I just want to play the game normally with fellow humans. Also, I hope SPL tournaments should add the no battle helper tag in their tournaments to disable it.

I also want to add that I do not like monopoly in LB. I am only using 1 account and letting it play in silver league. I am also trying to beat those accounts in the same guild that is trying to reach the top 3 places.

However, I do not fully believe it. In fact you have been matched and drawn on the last day with the same xbot user.
This is a very bad impression.
Because it looks like the bots and BHs don't seem to be grinding rates against each other. Everyone feels that this is no different than a win trade.
If you really like manual play, why go bot beat someone who is doing well in manual play on the last day? It is incomprehensible and sad to me.
But I will try to believe you for stepping up to me, and I know that the draw between BOTs was not intentional on your part. I just can't help myself to be calm right now. ueyuey feels the same way I do.

Don't feel sorry, bro. I understand your feeling and thoughts. As much as I wanted to not have draws when faced with other Xbot users, I don't have the ability to evade them during queue or use different lineups for the battle. I don't like it and it is a waste of energy. Although, there are more battles that me and PKM Pirates face each other and I ended up losing than winning or having a draw.
I'm still doing manual battles within the season too. When I reached my target rating or chest count, I let the bot to play the rest of my energy.
If you're getting frustrated with SPL like me, you can try to play Legends of Runeterra. I play that game just to have a breath of fresh air. It is also a card game. I prefer playing meme decks because it is fun and very satisfying to watch. I hope you look into it.
I support you fully in this very important cause. While I do allow my account to run with automation when I am away, however, when I am able to play battles myself, whether in ranked, brawl, or tournaments, I always do so myself without any additional hand helpers or automated assistance. I still love picking teams on my own, but with all the automation available, it is definitely getting harder to win -- especially if you don't have a complete collection with all the important, expensive cards.
I believe that the game can find a way through this issue with bots and decentralization. We must if we want to save the exciting and challenging strategic elements of our game. I believe!!!

I think the bot is a good way to make manual player matching more comfortable for those who turn it on when they are busy.
I don't think it's a good idea for the bot to win too much.
I think it would be more peaceful if people didn't use tools that ignore balance.
