Scientific Analysis of UFOs: UFO Doesn't Mean Alien! Flying Fast Objects Don't Prove Alien Visitation!

UFOs (Unidentified Flying Object) are a general issue, not a specific claim. Events such as the Battle of Los Angeles, Kemerburgaz UFO and Phoenix Lights are specific claims about UFOs. For this reason, since we have covered such a wide subject at length, it will not be possible for us to mention every aspect of it.

In this article; We will try to present a scientific perspective on UFOs without mentioning many issues associated with UFO conspiracies such as Area 51, Crop Circles, Roswell Incident, Nazis in Antarctica, Face on Mars, Reptilians.

The Relevance of Alien Existence to UFOs

First of all, it should be noted that none of the serious research centers such as SETI (Extraterrestrial Intelligent Life Research), NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) and ESA (European Space Agency) have so far been able to obtain data that can confirm the existence of UFOs with aliens in them. Before we continue reading, we want you to understand the following:

  • The existence of intelligent extraterrestrial life does not necessarily indicate the existence of UFOs.
  • The absence of UFOs does not necessarily indicate the absence of intelligent extraterrestrial life.

In short, "Are UFOs real?" and “Are we alone in the universe?” These are two separate questions that are related to each other. In any case, the burden of proof always rests on the claimant (Reference to Ignorance Fallacy). One of the most common criticisms when addressing this issue is “So you think we are alone in the whole universe?” is the sentence. I think we have stated that we do not think so with the two examples we have just given.

Yes, with the abundance of chemicals suitable for life in this gigantic cosmos, which contains billions of galaxies, it is possible for life to exist, from the simplest organisms to species far ahead of us in terms of technology. Even scientists think that it is an anthropocentric view to think that we are alone in the universe. However, regardless of the outcome, the following quote from science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke comes to mind:

There are two possibilities: either we are alone in the universe, or we are not alone in the universe. Both possibilities are equally terrifying.

When he looks at the night sky and says, "I wonder if he's out there somewhere right now and looking at the sky in the same way and saying, "Are we alone?" Is there an alien species that asks the question?" The thought is terrifying and exciting. Of course, today, when many people hear the word "Alien", they can directly think of "Thinking like us humans, producing technology, traveling in space". However, the difference between the concepts of living and non-living in biology is very thin, because they both consist of the same substances. Perhaps we may not even be aware of "what" we are looking for, as a different evolutionary process may operate on another planet.

When we say “alive” we think of things that have familiar features (eyes, nose, legs, etc.) and can move, but this is an extremely incomplete definition, astrobiology also emphasizes these details. However, although the "little green men" is an image created by the influence of Hollywood movies, some scientists speculate that alien species may have similar body structures to us (two eyes, two arms and two legs, etc.).
