Having battles in Splinterlands is always a good choice to spend your time. I enjoy every battles in Splinterlands and had great time in opening Rebellion packs. Normally, I will share anything about Splinterlands on the social media, it could be about cards, abilities, rulesets, battle reviews, End of Season results, or my playing experience.

The topic of this post will mainly focus on my strategy on the EVEN STEVENS rule set. And let's move on and discuss how we won the battle.

The Principal Rule Set: EVEN STEVENS

image.png

Only Monsters with even Mana costs may be used in battles.

Note: There are no special tricks for this ruleset, but having an idea of mana points of a few monsters helps in predicting what your opponent can and cannot use. The only interpretation of this rule set is to eliminate the odd mana monsters, the combinations would therefore be less in normal rule set.

The Lineup

Summoner

image.png

The THADDIUS BROOD is a good choice for this battle since no ranger monsters could be used in this battle, therefore the only two left are melee and magic monsters. I pick the THADDIUS BROOD to reduce the magic damage of my enemy and my front tank might take the role of reduce melee damage. Plus, the -1 health is also useful.

Front Row

image.png

The HARKLAW fits the requirement for my front tank since it has shield to reduce the melee damage receive. And my summoner reduce the magic damage to protect itself. Taking 8 mana to have this wonderful tank is definitely a good choice.

Second

image.png

The ARACHNE THUG fits into my second place since it is a melee tank with reach ability that allows it to attack even not in first place. Plus, the trample ability sometimes works amazing if it is on a killing spring. Besides that, costing 6 mana for the 4 melee attach and 7 health is a great deal in this battle.

Third

image.png

The WILL-O-WISP is a supporter monster in the team which does not have any attack type in battle but with good use. The weaken and salience ability could help me nerf my enemy in battle as well. However, it could be a whole different story if we combine this amazing card with weapon training.

Fourth

image.png

The SKOK DUSKBLIGHT is the key of my team since my strategy is to utilize the weapon training with good monsters that without any types of attack. Talking about the weapon training, I would prefer the magic type since it could attack even in first place as they are not rangers. This RS reward card is pretty amazing and I am a fan of it.

Fifth

The RIFTWING is also a great monster that with good abilities but no attacks. And the weapon training ability of my SKOK DUSKBLIGHT could fix this problem and make my RIFTWING enable the 2 magic attacks. Besides, the scavenger ability could make it powerful in the last session of battle.

Sixth

image.png

The MAGI OF CHAOS sometimes is a great card to beat some monsters that with no attack such as the meta monsters like Ulundin Overseer, Grimbardun Smith. The oppress ability would somehow give you a surprise in battle. Plus, the stats of MAGI OF CHAOS is decent while costing only 6 mana.

Battle Result

image.png

It was an epic battle that with good strategy, since my HARKLAW and ARACHNE THUG plays a good role in tanking all the damages from my enemy while my backline magic monsters are keeping doing the DPS job. Meanwhile, the weapon training ability works well in enabling the two supporter monsters RIFTWING and WILL-O-WISP. After make sure all my back line monsters are well-protected, my monsters safe enough to eliminate all the enemies. They are on fire~

Win Rate Analysis

image.png

The strategy seems not working well as I only have 10% of winning this battle based on 100 battles of simulation in Xbot. This website helps me improve my win rate as the time goes by since I normally check every win rate of my rank battles afterwards, which helps me build up better strategy to make more wins. Definitely suggest all of you or new comers in Splinterlands to utilize the function of this tool.
