Combo Chronicles: Baakjira and Kulu Mastermind

Today I would like to write about one of my favorite card combos Baakjira and Kulu Mastermind. I will also share one of my recent tier five Brawl battles at a diamond league level where I am going against one of the strongest summoners of the olden days Yodin Zaku

The Strategy

For the brawl Battle that I am sharing here we had a triple ruleset in effect:

Taking Sides - where you cannot play neutral units
Broken Arrows - where you cannot play cards that have ranged attack
Up to Eleven - where all units have Amplify ability.

We also have forty two mana available for the brawl and Fire, Earth, Water and Dragon splinters playable.

When I see no ranged attackers I immediately think of units that are very strong against magic attackers one of those cards is Baakjira. I like playing Baakjira in a second position in a combination with Possibilus the Wise summoner that gives Baakjira a reach and boosts its health by two health points and I always play Kulu Mastermind in this configuration.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Possibilus the Wise summoner is most effective when available mana is at least forty points. Here we have forty two points so we are in a perfect scenario for this summoner.

Kulu Mastermind is the perfect companion to Baakjira due to his Weapons Training ability which gives Baakjira melee attack that it can use from the second position thanks to Possibilus the Wise.

In the first position I play Diemonshark as it has Retaliate and Enrage abilities. This is a substantial tank and could be very useful against enemy melee attackers. It also has a Trample ability which will fire if Diemonshark manages to kill one of the monsters on the opposing team.

The last three monsters in my line up are two opportunity monsters including Isgald Vorst who is a great Gladiator card and Deeplurker who nerfs my opponent melee attackers and last but not least I have Palacor Bandit that has four melee damage for only three mana and is also a very fast flying monster.

The Battle

Here we come up against once a super meta summoner Yodin Zaku. This is a very powerful summoner still and I am really glad that I played Baakjira in the second position as it could take quite a bit of splash damage and then self heal.

In the first round we managed to take out their backline monster, but our front tank sustained quite a bit of damage and was not able to score a retaliate against their Fineas Rage.

In the second round our Diemonshark did manage to take out their Fineas Rage scoring multiple retaliates against it before falling on the battlefield.

We did have quite a few misses against two of their really fast backline monsters: Kha'zi Fire Mage and Elemental Phoenix.

Round three featured more misses against their Elemental Phoenix, but at least we were able to take out their Kha'zi Fire Mage. Their Inept Healer did a really good job healing their units.

At the start of the round four our Kulu Mastermind scored two really important kills taking out both the Inept Healer and Elemental Phoenix. I believe this move sealed JesterAgo fate in the brawl battle. This is basically a game over for them!

And then my three backline monsters scored perfect hits in a rapid succession and it is game over, just like that!

And in round for we scored an important victory against our opponent from Immortal Gods who played Yodin Zaku in this battle. And we have five out of our six monsters still standing!

Important victory for my team YGG Legion is secured in the Brawl!
