Today I am sharing a strategy I've been using in equalizer ruleset, centered around the Quix the Devious, a legendary dragon summoner hailing from the Chaos Legion core set.

Using Equalizer ruleset to win a Diamond level battle!

We have two rulesets in effect: Equalizer and Going the Distance:

RULESET: Equalizer

Description:

All unit start with the same health, based on the highest health on either team.

Buffs and debuffs are done afterward - this impacts base health.

The Strategy

First and foremost, let's shine a spotlight on Quix the Devious. This dragon summoner boasts a unique ability to reduce the speed and effectiveness of opponent ranged attacks, making him a great choice in Equalizer and Going the Distance rulesets. I've selected Quix as the linchpin of my lineup for this particular battle, leveraging his abilities to gain a crucial edge over my opponent.

To complement Quix's abilities, I've enlisted the aid of Venari Marksrat, a formidable card with a penchant for turning the tide of battle. Despite not yet reaching its full potential, even at level seven, Venari Marksrat proves to be indispensable in this low mana skirmish. But what truly sets this strategy apart is the synergy between Quix and the Naga Assassin. This card, boasting both Backfire and Swiftness abilities, becomes an unstoppable force when paired with Quix's enhancements. With Quix's ability to boost the speed of ranged attackers and Venari Marksrat's Martyr ability further augmenting its capabilities, the Naga Assassin becomes a swift and deadly card.

Of course, no strategy would be complete without a versatile ranged attacker, and in this regard, the Xenith Archer proves to be an invaluable addition to my arsenal. With its high base speed, respectable health pool, and potent ranged attacks, the Xenith Archer provides much-needed firepower to support my frontline units, ensuring that no enemy remains beyond the reach of my onslaught.

Last but certainly not least, we have Igor Darkspear, a card from the water splinter. Armed with potent ranged attacks, impressive speed, and the ability to stun opponents, Igor Darkspear serves as the primary damage dealer in this battle.

The Summoner

Quix the Devious is a Chaos Legion core set legendary dragon summoner. I chose Quix because it reduces opponent ranged attacks and their speed by one. This is a low mana and dragon splinter has Naga Assassin which pairs perfectly with Quix and Venari Marksrat

1st Slot - Martyr Monster

I didn't yet get a chance to max out my Venari Marksrat, but even at level seven this is key card to play in this ruleset. We have a very low mana battle so for only three mana we can get the key Martyr ability on the field. Additionally at level seven Venari Marksrat comes with a base speed of three, four health and two ranged attack though we don't care about attack as I am placing this card as a first card in my lineup, so it will not be attacking.

2nd Slot - Highspeed Backfire Monster

Naga Assassin is another key card in this battle. The main reason I used it was because for only two mana in this low mana battle it comes with Backfire and Swiftness abilities. It also comes with a base speed of six, five health and two ranged attack. The strategy here is to boost Naga Assassin with Quix the Devious summoner by one extra speed and to boost it even further with the Venari Marksrat martyr ability. This could take her speed up to eight which would likely result in multiple backfires and damage to the opponent.

3rd Slot - Fast Low Mana Range Attacker Monster

Xenith Archer is a two mana ranged attacker with a high base speed of four and five health. It also comes with a base archer damage of two. As a neutral card this card can be played in many different battles with any splinter.

4th Slot - Stun Range Attacking Monster

And finally last, but not least we have Igor Darkspear. This is an epic rarity card from the water splinter. It came out with the Chaos core set. For only two mana this little card comes with three ranged attack, three speed and five health as well as the stun ability. This is our primary damage dealer in this battle.

THE BATTLE

Our opponent went with the same summoner, but didn't utilize the martyr monster in front of the Naga Assassin:

Round one was an exchange of blows with all units still standing:

In second round we took out their Naga Assassin and they took out our martyr monster.

In third round we scored a crucial backfire against their major and now the only damage dealer:

And in round four we we took out their Pyrewatch Devil leaving a single card on their team which is basically a win since they don't have the attack anymore:

And in round six it is game over!

We win against a higher rated opponent and over seven SPS is our reward:
