How I use Elias Max Pruitt in Modern Diamond
Introduction
Elias Max Pruitt is a legendary summoner that I have not figured out how to properly use right away. He comes with two sets of abilities to pick from and initially I was using the set of abilities that is less effective in most situations. So today I would like to talk about the most effective use of Elias Max Pruitt in Modern Diamond league.
The Summoner
Elias Max Pruitt is a very effective summoner if you know how to use it. It took me a little while to figure out the most effective use case scenarios for this summoner.
As you can see it gives plus one melee and plus one shield to all friendly monsters, that comes by default and you don't have to choose it. The fun part is choosing the Cleanse and Repair abilities or Armored strike and Piercing. Originally I was using the Cleanse and Repair abilities, but eventually I figured out that Elias Max Pruitt is a lot more effective as a summoner when used with Armored Strike and Piercing.
Best Monster Combo to Use with Elias
There are multiple combos that are effective with Elias Max Pruitt, but I found that one combination is especially effective with Elias Max Pruitt:
Coralforged
Coralforged is a new Conclave Arcana reward card that has a Flank ability which when this monster is placed in the first position gives monster in the second position reach ability. For eight mana this four shield and nine health monster is a pretty decent tank that comes with base melee damage of four and Fury, Dodge and Shield abilities in addition to the most important Flank ability.
Placing Coralforged in the first position usually ensures that our Armored Strike ability monster not only gains reach but also retains all of his shields so that the Armored Strike is at its highest impact.
Commander Slade
I feel that Commander Slade has gained a new meta with Elias Max Pruitt. This monster is really hard to hit if you combine it with monsters that speed up the friendly team or slow down the enemy as well as adding Blind ability to your team. It might require monsters that I simply don't have to take the full advantage of this, but even in my basic setup this monster is really good.
With Elias Max Pruitt this monster becomes a real killing machine. The first round it will strike with eight from it's shield and with six melee damage for the total of fourteen points of damage in the first round. That could be really devastating particularly now that Force Shield ability is not very common.
The Battle

I use this summoner and monster combination very often, the link above is just the latest illustration of using these three cards.
So let's take a look a the medium mana battle that features Elias Max Pruitt as well as Coralforged and Commander Slade combo:
As you can see here the GreatBullOffFire is using a fairly standard combination upfront as well as some new Escalation cards including a very popular Doldrus promo card. Let's see how our team will do against this strong lineup.
In the first round our combo came out swinging and eliminated their tank which is normally quite hard to get rid of. Unfortunately our Surgeblade has missed her shot, but even with this miss we are in a very decent position starting the second round.
In the second round we had no misses and were able to get rid of their reach monster and do a lot of damage to Doldrus.
In the third round we got rid of Doldrus and another monster, but we did finally loose our Coralforged, though he did his job really well keeping the Commander Slade at his peak damage ability with eight shield for the full three rounds!
At the start of round five we are clearly positioned to win this battle and it is not even close!
Their monster fires first, but then our Commander Slade takes it out with his Armored Strike of eight.
And it is a nice win with almost 17.5 SPS!
