Just Advanced to Modern Champion 2, Here is What Rewards are Like

Introduction

Today, with over five hours still to go in the Splinterlands Season I have advanced to Modern Champion Two. This is earlier than usual and seems like I am doing better and reaching higher ranking this season. Not sure what this is about? Perhaps more luck or maybe less challenging competition in Modern League.

Is it that the summer is almost here and everyone is enjoying the outdoors instead of playing Splinterlands?

League Advancement Rewards

As you probably know you earn league advancement chests when you advance the league level in Splinterlands, advancing to Champion Two in Modern is second best set of league advancement in the game, the best is obviously advancing to Champion One.

So I got fourteen minor chests, twelve major chests and five Ultimate Chests, each of the Ultimate chests is worth 10,000 Glint tokens if you buy it from the Rewards store, so this advancement is worth fifty thousand Glint tokens just for the Ultimate chests! Plus two thousand five hundred for each of the major chests and at twelve chests that is another thirty thousand Glint tokens! And finally add fourteen minor chests at five hundred Glint tokens each and you get another seven thousand glint. So that total worth of this league advancement reward is eighty seven thousand Glint tokens!

I always use potions when opening chests, as you can see I have plenty of potions so it totally makes sense to use them. So what do you get for 87,000 Glint token worth of league advancement chests?

I would say these results are a bit underwhelming... yes I got three Conclave Arcana Extra cards, but these are so hard to upgrade and I cannot seem to get them to the playable level just yet...

Maybe it is just my bad luck with chests, but I feel these rewards are not very impressive. Getting eight extra energy is nice though as playing around four thousand ranking get's you really nice SPS token rewards. As you can see from the screenshot below I was able to get twenty eight and a half SPS for a single win!

And that is not even the best SPS amount that I won at these levels.

Here is a snapshot of my three wins with a record SPS win of over thirty eight SPS tokens!

That thirty eight SPS win required a Win Streak bonus of twenty percent, that is five wins in a row, which is not easy to get at the Modern Champion level, it also required a black foil bonus of another twenty percent as well as promo card bonus of ten percent - these bonuses were applied because I used my black foil Pickle promo card.

I also get a twenty percent bonus for being in the level ten Guild and five percent for my prefix title. And my SPS Boost is at 11.3 because I have a nice chunk of SPS staked even after delegating out over 160K SPS:

My effective SPS for reward shares calculation is basically 600K SPS.

Conclusion

I believe that it is really worth it to play in Modern League these days as Glint based rewards can be really underwhelming, but SPS rewards in Modern Champion are really nice especially if you have a good amount of staked or rented SPS.

I also noticed that due to the Wild requiring double the staked SPS to get the same glint rewards I am actually getting more glint tokens playing in Modern, so it is a win-win situation.
