Mastering the Born Again Battleground: A Death Splinter Odyssey

image.png

Today, I'm excited to present the strategy behind my Born Again ruleset approach, where low mana meets the Armored Up ruleset. In this intense battle featuring Water, Earth, Death, and Dragon splinters, I've chosen to channel my focus into the ominous realm of Death, led by the indomitable Cursed Windeku as my main tank, backed by the formidable summoner Thaddius Brood and the versatile Weirding Warrior.

Using Born Again ruleset to win a Diamond level battle!

We have two rulesets in effect: Born Again and Armored Up:

RULESET: Aimless

Description:

All units receive the Rebirth ability which allows them to self resurrect once.

We also have Armored up ruleset in effect and four splinters active: Water, Earth, Death and Dragon.

This is a very low mana battle with only twelve mana available.

The Strategy

Thaddius Brood, hailing from the Chaos Legion Core set, takes the reins as my summoner of choice. In the realm of low mana battles, Thaddius proves to be a formidable force, leveraging the might of Death splinter's powerful monsters. His ability to reduce magic damage and health on the opponent's team proves invaluable in navigating the intricacies of battles where mana is at a premium.

At the forefront of my strategy stands Cursed Windeku, a stalwart tank with attributes perfectly suited for low mana skirmishes. Boasting a base speed of three, four melee damage, and an impressive eleven health points, Cursed Windeku becomes the linchpin of my Born Again strategy. The inclusion of Thorns, Heal, and Slow abilities further solidifies its role as a resilient force on the battlefield. Priced at a mere six mana, this tank has the potential to single-handedly clinch victory in low mana battles, a feat enhanced by its ability to heal itself after being Born Again.

Enter Corpse Fiend, a legendary monster from the Chaos Legion core set, wielding the power to disrupt the opposing team's magic attack through its silence ability. Serving as a crucial meat shield for zero mana, Corpse Fiend becomes an indispensable asset, fortifying my defenses and creating a strategic advantage in the Born Again arena.

Rounding out my formidable trio is the Weirding Warrior, an epic rarity monster with two ranged attacks, three speed, and three health points. Positioned as a support monster, Weirding Warrior's Rust ability proves invaluable by stripping away two armor points added by the Armored Up ruleset. Additionally, its amplify ability synergizes seamlessly with Cursed Windeku, enhancing the thorns damage and amplifying the overall effectiveness of my Death splinter lineup.

In conclusion, my Born Again strategy revolves around the formidable trio of Thaddius Brood, Cursed Windeku, Corpse Fiend, and the strategic support of Weirding Warrior.

The Summoner

Thaddius Brood is a rare summoner from the Chaos Legion Core set. This summoner is very strong in low mana battles due to the powerful monsters that Death splinter comes with. And reducing magic damage and health on the opponent team in a low mana battles is also very beneficial.

1st Slot - Self Healing Tank Monster

Cursed Windeku is a key monster in this battle. I particularly like this tank for low mana battles as it is fairly hard to kill unless you bring affliction and poison from a card like Doctor Blight. This tank comes with a base speed of three, four melee damage and impressive eleven health points. It also has Thorns, Heal and Slow abilities and all of this for only six mana. This tank is capable of winning a low mana battle on it's own. It also is great with the Born Again ruleset, because it has a chance to heal itself after being born again.

2nd Slot - Meat Shield Monster

Corpse Fiend is a legendary monster from the Chaos Legion core set. The main utility for Scorch fiend is reducing the opposing team's magic attack due to it's silence ability and it is also a meat shield for zero mana, this is a must have monster for these kinds of battles.

3rd Slot - Supporting Monster

Weirding Warrior is another member of the Chaos Legion core set. It is an epic rarity monster with two ranged attack, three speed and three health points. It's main role in this battle is to serve as a supporting monster! Particularly useful is his Rust ability that removes two armor added by the Armored Up ruleset. Additionally his amplify ability works great with the Cursed Windeku tank enhancing his thorns damage.

THE BATTLE

Our opponent went with an interesting strategy based around Chaos Agent backfire ability. I don't think it will be enough to get through our tank...

First round was really bad for us both of our attackers missed against their Chaos Agent resulting in them loosing their shields due to the backfire from Chaos Agent.

In the second round both of our attackers managed to land a hit on Chaos Agent taking it out before Born Again brought it back:

In round three our Weirding Warrior missed again resulting in it being brought back by the Born Again, thankfully our tank didn't miss and took out their Chaos Agent. Now the outcome of this battle is just a matter of time.

It took us until round seventeen to win this battle:
