My Favorite Ruleset in Splinterlands: Rise of the Exemplars

Introduction
In this post I am going to talk about my new favorite ruleset in Splinterlands: Rise of the Exemplars. Whenever this ruleset comes up my chances of winning go up dramatically, especially against the harder opponents in the Modern Champion.
How I Play Rise of the Exemplars Ruleset
I play Rise of the Exemplars ruleset by trying to Weapons Train my Exemplar. Since my Exemplar doesn't have any attack it can be weapons trained. I try to weapons train it for all three attack types: Melee, Ranged and Magic attack. Since my exemplar is in a dragon splinter, my favorite card to weapons train it is Rage to equip my Exemplar with a magic attack and to equip it with ranged and melee attacks I usually use Bren Palesworn which is almost always available as it is a neutral monster.
I like to place my Exemplar towards the middle of my card lineup so that it is not taken out at the start of the battle.
My Exemplar

My exemplar is all about abilities. The main ability is Ambush as it gives my exemplar an opportunity to deliver multiple attacks before the battle even starts. The second most important ability is Opportunity this ability targets the enemy with the least health and that is important so that I have a chance to take out one of the opponents glass cannons before the game even starts. The third most important ability is Blast that deals additional 50% damage to the units adjacent to the target. This spreads the damage and weakens my opponent. And the last two abilities are Execute and Deflect. Deflect is a defensive ability that I would argue is more important than the offensive ability of Execute, though sometimes Execute becomes a big deal and really helps.
Best Cards to Play With My Exemplar

Above are all the cards in my collection that have Weapons Training ability. These are the best companions to my and any other Exemplar that doesn't have attack and relies on Weapons Training to become an offensive card.
Here are my favorite cards to weapons train my Exemplar. First of all you need to be aware that weapons training is only up to a total power of three, so while I love Rage as a card it is the same in terms of Weapons Training as Daarg Deadblast and trains my Exemplar to a Magic Attack with a power of three only.

Bren Palesworn is my first choice for weapons training, because it equips my Exemplar with two ranged and three melee attack. And this card is also playable with any splinter, so it is always available except if you have no neural cards or the small mana monsters only.

Rage is a great monster on its own so it is my second choice.

Daarg Deadblast is my third choice and that is when I am playing a water splinter and don't have enough mana for Rage.

Happy Quokka and Lucky Longshot are the two weapons training monsters that I only play in the case of the small mana ruleset with my preference towards Lucky Longshot as I train the Exemplar with two different types of attack for the same total damage of three.
Rise of the Exemplar Battle Examples
Below are a some links where you can see my Exemplar in Action:
As you can see from the six links above I won every single battle and based on six exemplar battles above plus one battle that was sixteen mana and didn't make sense to use my Exemplar which I lost, it appears that this ruleset comes up about 7% of the time.
A Fun Battle Featuring My Exemplar
Here is a fun battle that features my Exemplar:

This is a Modern Champion Battle and Coyotelation is using a very meta summoner.

I have only one Ambush monster in this lineup and that is my Exemplar. As you can see that by the time the Ambush round was over, my Exemplar on its own was able to take out my opponents exemplar as well as one other Epic rarity monster.

By the time first round ended my exemplar took out one more monster on the opponent team and as you can see at the start of the first round my Exemplar took out one monster from @coyotelation team.

Then it executed one more monster next as you can see from the screenshot above.

And then it took out the last remaining monster on my opponent's team before any of my monsters even had a chance to make the first strike...

It was a nice win in Modern Champion 2 and 20 SPS tokens.

Thank you!
Your Exemplar is outrageous! lol. Absolute abilities fiend. Would be tempted to say the Execute ability is more important than the Blast dependent on match rules, can be brutal 😇
Yes, Execute can definitely compete with Blast, you have a valid point there.
Well done on your daily Ecency leaderboard quest, @seattlea! This breakdown of the Rise of the Exemplars ruleset is insightful and highly strategic.
Tipped with Ecency POINTS.
Excellent! :)
I guess I don't even know what an exemplar is. I don't think I have ever seen that ruleset.
Looks like it comes up 7% of the the time. The exemplar is your own card that you can create using Glint. You can create only one of these, so better make it really good :)
Oh, okay. Glint. I got it.
