Using Stone Golem with Mylor against another Mylor led team to win an equalizer battle

STONE GOLEM

THEME: STONE GOLEM

Edition: ALPHA/BETA
Rarity: RARE
Element: EARTH
Attack: MELEE
Abilities: SHIELD//STUN AT LEVEL 5

Stone Golem is one of the key tanks in the Earth splinter. Even at level one it is really useful particularly against melee and ranged attackers as it has a shield that reduces damage to it. In this particular ruleset it benefits from increased health and helps me win the battle.

You will notice that the opponent is using Wood Nymph which I do not have in my bronze level account that is playing currently in Silver 3. This is a good play on their part, however it doesn't save them against Stone Golem as it soaks up too much damage and deals it back with thorns. As you notice both teams are using Mylors, Stone Golem benefits the team by taking less thorns damage as well.

Here is my green vs. green battle using Stone Golem:

The Ruleset

This is a fairly high mana ruleset for Silver league level. Due to this I was able to use a secondary tank Goblin Mech. The rest of the team is composed from ranged and one magic monsters. The Equalizer ruleset is in effect.

The Strategy

Active splinters were Earth, Life and Dragon. Based on my opponent battle history I made a conclusion that Mylor on their side is very likely therefore I used Stone Golem in front and Goblin Mech as a backup tank. Stone Golem is a key piece of my strategy, he benefits from equalizer rule gaining more health which is very beneficial in particular against melee and ranged attacks as his shield ability reduces melee and range damage by one. Also thorns damage is also reduced by one. The secondary tank is to ensure that backline monsters have enough time to do enough damage to the opposing team.

The Summoner

Mylor Crowling
Mylor Crowling is an Earth splinter summoner enabling the whole team with thorns damage in return to a melee attack. I chose it to counteract what I predicted to be a Mylor Crowling led team on the opposing side.

1st Slot - Main Tank

STONE GOLEM
Stone Golem has a shield ability and benefits from the equalizer ruleset that makes it a great tank even at a level one.

2nd Slot - Secondary Tank

Goblin Mech
Goblin Mech has a great shields and relatively low health so it benefits from the equalizer ruleset that makes it a great tank that deals a lot of melee damage.

3rd Slot - Magic Damage reduction

Mushroom Seer
I use Mushroom Seer to reduce magic damage in case the opponent selects a team with high magic damage. This is also useful to get through the opponent shields as Mushroom deals 2 damage even at level one.

4th Slot - Ranged Attack

Mantoid
Mantoid is a great ranged attacker that has a snipe ability that helps take out a healer on the opposing team.

5th Slot - Ranged Attack

Venari Seedsmith
Venari Seedsmith is a great new rewards monster that deals two ranged damage at level one and has a scavange ability which increases it's health by one every time any monster dies.

6th Slot - Ranged Attack

Gargoya Devil
Gargoya Devil is another great new rewards monster that has a flying ability and a shield which makes it a perfect candidate for the last position to proctect from the sneak attacks.

As you can see both tanks perished in a hard fought battle, but my team took a very confident win with plenty of monsters with high health remaining standing on the battlefield!
