Sometimes When You Think ALL is Lost, This Happens!

Introduction
I see players often complain of back luck in Splinterlands, I am feeling that way as well myself where things should have been a sure win, but somehow it is bad luck and you loose a battle. Well, today I would like to share a battle where I thought that this is for sure that this is a lost battle, but I ended up winning this battle.

The Battle
Link to the battle
This is one of those Modern League Diamond level battles where both players used not a fully maxed out lineup. On my side I have two cards at a Gold League level: Torch Vizier and Rush Townsend and BabyPuppy also has a couple cards that are not maxed out: Baron Fyatt and Grove Doomblade:

Looking at this lineup I notice that one of the mistakes I made was using Rush Townsend in the back of my line up. Usually it is a perfect place for the Rush Townsend and he goes perfectly with Nidhoggr summoner because of his Ambush firing at the star of the battle, but in this case we have a Unprotected ruleset in effect so Rush Townsend five health is a liability and BabyPuppy was able to really capitalize on it using his Groove Doomblade monster.

Round one really didn't go our way! First I had a few misses from my big hitters like Venka the Vile and Torch Myrmidon and then the most shocking part is that I actually lost half of my team right there in the first round. Gone was the Torch Myrmidon and one of my main damage dealers Rush Townsend that was taken out by the Groove Doomblade sneak monster.
Really well played BabyPuppy!

The second round started really bad as well for me! As you can see above after just a few strikes by BabyPuppy I am down to my last remaining monster: Venka the Vile. At this point I am thinking that this battle is basically over and I have lost. I have a one low health monster left on the field and BabyPuppy still has five monsters in the battle with two of them still waiting for a strike, so this is basically a loss.
But here is where the second ruleset kicked in: Stampede - this is where Trample ability can trigger for as long as Venka the Vile keeps killing the monsters on the opposite side.

Take a look at the image above the seven melee damage from Venka the Vile combine with the Blast damage that Nidhoggr provides made sure that my Venka the Vile was able to zero out the four monsters including a high health scavenger monster. And Venka the Vile was not done yet, with the last shot she took out the last standing monster on the opponent team!

Just look at that 14 melee damage strike above! This is when Splinterlands becomes really fun!

And just like that the battle that I thought was for sure lost turned around and I won fourteen SPS.
