Speed Strategy to Defeat Heloise the Hollow in Modern Champion

Introduction

I have previously shared my strategy of using Nidhoggr summoner to defeat Heloise the Hollow, that is a good strategy, but it is not always available as you have to have a high mana dragon match. In todays post I will showcase a speed strategy featuring Elias Max Pruitt summoner along with Commander Slade, Daigendark Surveyor and Daarg Deadblast.

The Strategy

The basic strategy here is to use speed to hit first, hit hard and try to avoid the hits in return. This strategy is accomplished by using two evasive monsters in the front of my lineup: Coralforged and Commander Slade. Commander Slade is really the key card in this strategy as it combines really well with Coralforged and is being protected by Coralforged and thanks to the Elias Max Pruitt summoner it is also my main damage dealer as Commander Slade hits for six with every game round: six with melee attack and six with Armored strike.

The speed of the team is also boosted by Daarg Deadblast and Daigendark Surveyor is slowing the enemy team as well as providing stun and magic reflect abilities. Another high damage dealer here is Venka the Vile that is melee attack boosted by Elias Max Pruitt to eight melee damage with each hit.

And the final piece of the strategy is the resilient taunt monster: Bellowmancer that is resilient to both magic and melee and ranged attackers as it has Shield and Void Armor abilities as well as respectable three magic damage and nine health points and eight armor.

The Battle

Link to the Battle

In this Modern Champion Battle I am facing an opponent that built their strategy around Heloise the Hollow. Lets see how my strategy holds up against this formidable team of high damage monsters featuring promo cards like Doldrus.

In the first round I was able to defeat Heloise the Hollow three times which resulted in three monsters on the Voros-Medve team becoming Weary and no longer able to support the resurrection of Heloise the Hollow.

Two times Counter attack by Heloise the Hollow landed on the Holy Protection shield and once our Coralforged was able to avoid her counter attack due to his Dodge ability and his speed of five. Let's see how round two will go.

In round two we were able to defeat Heloise the Hollow two more times one resurrection was due to the one remaining non-Weary monster Bren Palesworn and one more time due to the Resurgence ability from the summoner Elowen Sylphie.

At the start of the round three we are starting to look like we might actually survive this encounter with Heloise the Hollow lead team. I was looking at how much you can rent Heloise and it is not available for rent right now but it was available for rent at the start of the season for 2,000 DEC per day which is really high...

In round four our speed meta really shined where we were able to take out three of the four remaining monsters on the Voros-Medve team before they were even able to fire a single shot. And at the start of the round four it looks like we are going to score a very convincing win against the Heloise the Hollow lead team.

And just like that at in round four we took out the last remaining monster without letting it take a single shot at our team. As a result we lost only one monster in this battle!

And we won this Modern Champion battle against a higher ranked opponent as well as took home almost nineteen SPS tokens for the win!

Nice battle! Always looking bad when I meet HTH - luckily I'm not high enough for that to happen often :-D Doldrus is a card that I really want to get. I encounter it so many times, and it's impressive.
