Splinterlands Season Report and Review

πŸ“– Introduction

Here is my Season 181 report covering battle performance, earnings, rewards, tournaments and market activity.

Please note that the image above contains real data collected from this report. This report data is collected by running Docker Containers from @beaker007 GitHub Repository code that can be found at: https://github.com/gamerbeaker007/spl-stats-next

Running your own Docker is not a requirement, it just gives me more control over the data and reduces the load on beakers service that can be accessed for free at: http://spl-stats.com

And finally, I am allocating 5% of the earnings from this post to Beaker in appreciation of his wonderful work on the tool that I believe is the best free data tool for Splinterlands.

Modern Champion III46823850.9%3840#113
Wild Diamond III11100.0%2940β€”

As you can see this season I was completely focused on the Modern League and played just one battle in Wild in order to drop my account a bit further down for the next time I decide to play in Wild in order to collect more league progression chests.

You can also see that my rating was not enough to be in the top one hundred on the Modern Champion Leaderboard, however at one point I could have stopped and made it to the Modern Champion Leaderboard as my rating was 3980 and as you can see that would have been enough to place on the Leaderboard and earn fifty thousand Glint tokens:

When I reached that number with about a day left in the season I made a conscious decision not to stop. The reason for that was two fold: number one I was earning so much SPS per battle (frequently 20+ SPS tokens per win) and I was just one win away from advancing to Champion 2 in modern. If I would have made one more win and advanced to Champion 2 I would have collected really nice League Advancement chests and would have stopped.

Well, that bet didn't playout that way, but the consolation prize was a really nice amount of SPS tokens I have earned in the remaining 24+ hours.

As you can see from the rating chart above my Maximum Season Ranking (the dashed line) is usually higher than my end of the Season Ranking, and I believe it is due to me playing the last day of the season when competition is brutal, but you also get the highest SPS earnings frequently.

As you can see from the DEC table above this season was un-usual for me as I have actually sold a card. I got two golden cards from the voucher card purchases and I don't really need a gold foil card, especially not two of them.

So while I really like this voucher card: Conjurer's Hubris, I decided to sell one of them. I am keeping the second one for my collection as a collectors card.

As you can see from the table above my top source of SPS earnings is still SPS Block validation, however this season Modern Ranked SPS earnings were really close to the SPS Block Validation.

Staking rewards were a distant third and Validator License rewards and Brawl rewards each brought in SPS in the two hundreds.

As you can see from the chart above my SPS earnings have been second highest ever but below the 18.5K SPS peak set in Season 179. Naturally with SPS price hitting all time lows in the last few days those SPS earnings are worth a lot less. My strategy is a long term bet, so I don't really mind this new all time low as long as we do see a bull market in SPS in the future...

My Merits earnings remained pretty steady as you can see from the chart below, but since all my Gladiator cards have been maxed out a while ago I am just collecting these hoping for the new Gladiator Cards set in the future:

-
Purchase Reward Merits
5,000

My Glint earnings were close to an all time high despite not playing in Wild League at all, so I find it a myth that Glint Earnings are higher in Wild. I believe that my data proves this pretty convincingly.

Also, as you can see from my table for Glint Purchases I have been mostly focused on Reward Draw purchases with some expenditures on Energy at the start of the season when my cost of buying energy is the lowest.

Voucher

As you can see I spent all of my vouchers on the new card that I really like Conjurer's Hubris, but I have not gotten it to the minimum level that I want it at, so I might buy more of them this season.

🎁 Season Rewards β€” @seattlea

Minor: 36xMajor: 27xUltimate: 9x

As you can see from the table above I did earn some League Advancement chests, but unfortunately I have not made it into the Modern Champion 2, that would have increased the amount of Ultimate chests significantly.

In the shop I have focused on buying just the Minor and Major chests and bought the full first tranche of both. I have decided to skip Ultimate chests, as they are really expensive and I have not had a very good luck with those both historically and in my recent league advancement Ultimate chests.

I decided to skip these all together as I don't have enough Glint tokens to spend.

I did buy the first two tranches of Merits just as a long term bet on the new Gladiator reward set. Though I have not heard anything about the new Gladiator cards for a while, so I am not sure if they are still slated for this year or at all...

Consumables Earned

ItemCount
Legendary Potion108
Alchemy Potion60
Common Scroll33
Epic Scroll2

I did earn a very good number of energy of 66 which is good enough for almost three extra days of playing and earning SPS and Glint.

There is also a good number of Merits from the chests.

Fortune Draw Entries

Ranked
833x

Fortune Draws were quite disappointing recently. Despite earning over four hundred Fortune Draw Entries per draw in the last two weeks I have earned nothing, in fact I don't even remember when I got anything from these draws...

Slow but steady progress in my Conclave Arcana reward cards, with many of the common rarity card maxed out already and I am now starting to max out my rare reward cards.

I think a few more seasons and I will have half of my rare reward cards maxed out.

πŸ’³ Market β€” @seattlea

Cards Sold

1x

As I have mentioned this was a rare season where I actually sold a card, I normally just hoard everything I get in Splinterlands.

Closing notes

Overall another solid season with excellent SPS earnings, let's see if I can get on the Champion Leaderboard next season and get even more SPS and Glint tokens earned.

The data for this report was collected with the Splinterlands Statistics tool from @beaker007 SPL Stats (git-repo).

Nice to see you have updated to the new version. as you can see the tables have improved also based on your feedback.

Do you like them better like this?

I definitely like them a lot better! I have updated to the latest data, and re-synced all three accounts as well. This time the sync was much improved without any errors and didn't take that long to re-sync everything. I did the fresh start as I have move to a new machine that I have built.

Here are all the various containers that I am running on this machine, including my Hive Witness:

Nice. there are some more big changes coming, try to improve the queue mechanism and daily rescans etc....

I Also noticed when that data is warm at the spl side (called before) it's often also faster. Not sure how long before they are cold again 🀣
