📖 Introduction

Here is my Splinterlands Season 185 report covering battle performance, earnings, rewards and market activity. The data for this report has been collected using a great tool from @beaker007 : SPL Stats (git-repo)

As you can see from above I have finished up in Modern Champion Two. This season was also the first time in a very very long time that I have actually achieved Modern Champion One!

Overall performance was also pretty good at over fifty two percent win rate while spending most of the season in Modern Champion. I must say the rewards for advancing to Modern Champion One were quite disappointing:

The last six chests are Ultimate chests! As you can see these six Ultimate chests were no better than my Major chests...

My top source of SPS is once again Modern Ranked SPS rewards, though SPS block validation is really close to it with less than thirty SPS difference between the two. A distant third is my Staking Rewards for staking around eight hundred thousand SPS.

In the last day or so I have recently surpassed a major SPS staking milestone achieving eight hundred thousand SPS staked:

And a day later I am at 801K+ SPS staked, the SPS keeps flowing in, I thinking I will be at around a million SPS by the end of this year.

Pricewise the one million SPS is not worth what it used to be. But that goes for Hive as well.

I keep on stacking Merits, but there is nothing to buy with those as I have maxed out all of my Gladiator cards.

Glint token has become one of the interesting tokens in the SPS ecosystem. I find that I keep buying more and more energy with Glint tokens every season so that I earn more SPS tokens. I also spent some glint to purchase reward draws.

I think another interesting place to spend Glint is on your Exemplar. Since Exemplar is now a playable card in Modern ranked battles it is worth making into a very strong card.

I keep earning vouchers, I have not had a chance to see the new Voucher cards, but anyway I don't have enough vouchers saved up to buy enough voucher cards to get to at least a golden league level.

As you can see I have earned lots of League advancement rewards, but as you will see from the cards below I haven't really gotten anything spectacular from any of the chests including my fifteen Ultimate League advancement chests.

And that is the reason I have not been buying the Ultimate chests from the shop, I feel like it is too much of a gamble and most of the time I loose that gamble :)

As you can see I have not earned any legendary cards and only three epic rarity cards the rest are commons and rare cards.

That is not really impressive for all of the chests I have opened including fifteen Ultimate Chests.

Closing notes

It is another good season in terms of building up my deck and SPS holdings. This is a long term and incremental game. Right now is not the time to sell or quit, I am accumulating Splinterlands and Hive assets. One day there is going to be an altcoin bull market and those that accumulate will have an opportunity to profit if Hive and Splinterlands survive.
