CHAOS LEGION IS HERE - My Recent Buys and Plans for Phase 2 Packs
Starting to Buy Love the New Cards
I have been waiting for a long time. Trying to balance playability of my current deck vs waiting and saving what I could for Chaos Legion!!. Well it is finally here and I am super stoked. The game play has changed so much already and I am loving it!.
At first I felt overwhelmed with the number of new cards and trying to figure out what I needed first. It became clear to me as soon as I logged in and started to play. I need to buy the Epic, Legendary and summoners first. These card are typically some of the most powerful and useful cards in most matches. They can be real game changers at only 1 BCX.
I am still playing 2 accounts, both aiming towards the level 2 summoners at this point. Both currently have enough power to get to Silver 3, but I am trying hard to grow my primary to Silver 2 by the end of the year, but power is hard to come by without renting some big GF cards.
After I noticed that I can play all the common and rare cards as phantom cards, I will ignore those unless I can pick up a 1 BCX GF for the 5-10 that get a critical boost at level 3. As I went shopping I quickly blew through my limited savings of DEC quick. Cards are always "overpriced" or really expensive when they first come out, it is simple supply and demand. Too many players need too many bcx to level up and use vs the supply. While I know this I believe the use of the cards will make winning easier and will help increase my DEC earnings.
I bought 3 Epics For Each Account, Grund, Djinn Inferni and Nerissa Tridawn
Why I love Grund
Lets be honest, its a beast of a card. it has 10 Health, and when combined with the new tank heal in Earth I it is usually around for a few rounds dishing out damamge. I really love the card for the 3 Melee double strike!!. This is great is in so many matches, Melee only, Enrage, Melee attacks from any position, etc. Overall its a killer card that I probably rely on too heavily, but I think it is a must! I am sure as we see game play evolve there will be counters to it, but for now I will ride the Grund Train to victory!!
DJinn Inferni - Game changer for Fire
As much as I Love Grund, Djinn Inferni might be the perfect Grund counter for the Fire team. Dealing 3 Magic damage, plus the Giant killer means it would be doing 6 against Grund each round. The fact that Fire now has a monster dealing 3 magic damage and 6 to anything with 10 mana or more.. I find I am using it in a lot of matchups, maybe too many. The only downside is the low health of 4 makes it a risk to be taken out by snipe, or sneak too quickly. I really try to hide it in the line up as best as I can. So far I love watching it take out living lava and giving me a huge lead in a lot of matches!
Nerissa Tridawn Love
While I wish I had Alric to use with her, its still been a great card. Even if it gets suppressed down to 2 magic, its still strong. I also love the 9 health. It allows it to take a bunch of damage from snipers, or is a great secondary tank card with a healer behind. Really can't say anything bad, the only issue I have found is the 9 mana can be hard to fit into some matches given I hate putting in first position. Either way, I have been using it in most matches and feel like it has given me a few more wins. While it might not be as critical as some of the other Epics I bought, it is clearly giving my water a boost.
Phase 2 Packs Plan...Buy 2 every 3 days.
I am getting about .7 vouchers a day, wish it were more but that is what I am getting. I was initially going to sell the vouchers and buy cards, but I think I will buy Packs for as long as I have potions somewhere to open them. I am hoping for something really good, like a GF Epic to help with my power situation. I will hold onto the cards I open, at least the ones I see a benefit to upgrading to the max of my level 2 summoners. I do have two accounts, Senstless and Initech I am still playing and both can use cards. If I get cards I already have a GF version I will likely sell them off and use the funds to buy other cards. I have managed to open 2 packs so far, and I think I will have enough for one tomorrow, assuming I can get enough HIVE to pay for credits. Feel free to give me a phat upvote so I can keep buying packs, lolz.
As you can tell, not great, not awful. I am keen on Summoners, and GF. Of course I would love a legendary but know those are not very likely to be honest. The first pack was rough for me, espeically since I got it off HE and paid 6 HIVE for it... that one stung a bit. I always open packs with potions, but I will keep grinding as long as I can. The second pack was a nice little GF card. It is one of the ones I would target for GF as it picks up an extra damage at level 3, and will give me a small power boost that I need. I am still considering if I want to save these to combine, or sell them all now and hope for GF or to buy the later for cheaper... Its hard to know what to do. But since I have the phantom version of all the common and rare, its harder to keep these.
