New Changes and a New Set for Modern

Has everyone is getting hyped for the rebellion presale and the eventual release of the new set of playing cards for rebellion, I took stock and noticed I had been neglecting much of my current collection. While I had most of the individual splinters playing cards, what I was really lacking was summoner cards. While I'm sure there's a couple of lower level cards that I would be able to upgrade to play on bronze league, the real Lynch pin was getting those summoners.

  • New Cards
I am sure that most of my free Capital allotted for splinterlands will be going towards the rebellion cards once they hit the open market. I am not in a position to be participating in pack sales or presales, but I will definitely be buying on the secondary market for all those cards that I find to be the most beneficial crucial, followed by eventually 100% completion of the set if possible. Clearly legendary summoners may be an issue
  • Plans
I plan to Target those common rare and epic cards that will be most played from the rebellion set. The cards that will be the best compliment to the rift watchers and Chaos corset that will stay in a modern game set.

I plan to sell any untamed cards and older promo they get moved to wild. While I will miss playing with them my long-term vision for my account is to always stay in modern with new releases, and selling the older sets off to fund future purchases.

  • All Extra Cards to be sold

All the extra cards are collected and was buying on the secondary market for a future speculation will be sold off to help fund the rebellion set. It would be nice to eventually be able to afford an upgrade past level to summoners, but that will take a long time in strategic investments

New Additions

I went out this week and sold a few cards as well as transfer to Capital to buy DEC to complete my seminar collection. This resulted in buying six new summoners of the market, one for each splinter. While I can see a couple of use cases for these cards in the current rule set I don't run across them too often. I have a feeling as untamed summoners and rebellion summoners hit the market that these will become favorites in rule sets. I honestly really only dislike the death summoner to start.

Adding in rage to fire seems to be a great benefit in a lot of rule sets. Adding backfire to fast and elusive water cards can be a game changer, as I have found out more than once. Earth is well suited for close range, especially in lower mana matches. Life is getting a massive boost with return fire, especially in matches that only feature arrows, or ones where they are likely to be heavily favored. And finally giving phase to all monsters is another huge potential boost for dragons. The only reason I don't like death and applying cripple to all monsters is my inability to find a successful lineup that makes a lot of sense.

Total Summoners

Here is the view of my total summoners now. I couldn't find a good way in the game to only display non-sold bound playable cards. There are a couple of cards in chaos that I had originally bought as gold foil on my attempt to build a full team. This was quickly asked and I may consider selling these down the road and buying common versions. This would both give me additional capital potentially, as well as complete my collection from a standard foil perspective.

Why Summoners are important

The reason I wanted to make sure I got 100% of the summoners available is I believe they are the key. There has been more than one situation where I failed to see the benefit of a seminar and ignored it, only to have a new rule set, or combination of rule sets or a new release which changed the focus of the Splinter's monsters to where that summoner now becomes critical. Not having that summoner means I am in a massive disadvantage. It is also never a bad idea to have more options for summoners, especially lower mana summoners that will be available for games like Little League and lower mana matches where they might provide additional benefits.

I need the double check the rest of my cards four holes.

I need to check the rest of my teams and see what I could potentially be missing for cards at the correct level. I will try to make sure that I have all the cards at the current bronze caps of 3-2-1-1. I am not sure if I will continue the Gold path or not or will focus on completeness.
