Featuring Bronze League Summoner and Monsters in Action!

I am back with another battle mage secrets post featuring a bronze League account playing in the very bottom of gold three with the season reset. I am really loving the new cards that I bought at the end of last month and some of them are having a massive impact and allowing my bronze account to compete and sometimes win against the silver and gold leak accounts. Let's take a look at the challenge post for this week and what I was able to do.

CHALLENGE RULES

RULESET: Back to Basics

image.png

Description: All monsters lose their abilities.

Reasons Why I like it
Back to basics is a really interesting rule set. It removes all the monsters abilities and makes them very simplistic style. Melee can only attack from the first position, magic is very powerful as void armor and void are typically removed, range attacks are quite good for the back but close up is usually gone. A lot of time back to basics can be a magic heavy attack, although we'll have to factor in summoner buffs. Either way I think it is a refreshing change that really makes some monsters one-dimensional and a lot less powerful. What used to be an automatic decision like deep lurker are no longer a very useful card.

MANA: 29

Ruleset: Back to Basics: All monsters lose their abilities.

Ruleset: Noxious Fumes: All monsters are afflicted with the poison debuff at the start of the game.

Ruleset: Up Close and Personal: Only monsters with a melee attack can be used.

SPLINTERS: Water, Death

Initial Rule Set and Mana Gameplay Thoughts

Rule sets
These three rule set matches sometimes get to be a little bit much when considering all of them put together. Back to basics typically means it's a more magic focused attack lineup, but with up close and personal, only melee monsters will be allowed. This will significantly reduce the options. When we add in the third rule set of obnoxious fumes, and having every monster start the game afflicted by poison it becomes very difficult to find the lineup that I think will last
Mana
The manner of this match doesn't help out too much either as I am limited to only 29 mana. This means there's no way to add some of the highest health cards in an attempt to grind out and just Outlast my opponent

Splinters
Only having the water in death splinters is also going to significantly impact gameplay. If you were allowed to have dragon and have a card like Byzantine Kitty, or a triage summoner then you might have a different approach to try to outlast your opponent. I think with these three ruleset middle of the two splinters it can easily go either direction depending on the style you want.
The really strange thing about this match will be that only the front monsters will attack each other and the monsters in the back row will just sit and slowly get poisoned around after round

  • Summoner ASTRAL ENTITY I wanted to go to death directions so I could use the new summoner that I purchased last week. The reduction of two armor pairs nicely when playing against water with the addition of Dodge to my monsters means I made it a few extra misses. But the big one for me resurrect. This will allow me to bring a monster back from the dead with full armor, one health but most importantly no poison.

  • First Position LEGIONNAIRE ALVAR
An absolute beast of a card in melee only matches with poison. The best part for me is that when it gets resurrected, it should come back with eight armor and no poison.

  • Second Position HARKLAW I wanted to put a second monster here that was fairly decent just in case I somehow lost my primary tank, I figured Park law would be a decent secondary tank to have resurrected.

  • Third Position CURSED WINDEKU
To be honest I've absolutely no idea why I picked cursed windeku. It's almost meaningless as I know it won't play a factory game, I figure it's going to die from Poison before it ever reaches the front line. Only 5 rounds and it'll be gone and a lot of damage has to be done before it gets there. Either way it was gold foil and it looked pretty so I picked it

Opponent Lineup & Match Play

  • Summoner KELYA FRENDUL a relatively solid choice given is increasing speed armor to help stave off my attacks and let the only damage come from Poison
  • TORRENT FIEND pure Cannon powder, it's going to die in the first one anyways so you might as well put it first and let your higher health cards carry you to the end
  • VENATRO KINJO very similar again, three health for only two mana not likely to get out of the first or second round
  • CRUEL SETHROPOD I think it's a really smart play, and probably underrated overall. At this level it has six hundred and six health which means that even after the first two rounds of poison it will still get to the front line with six armor that I need to get through.
  • DIEMONSHARK another super high armor card with even higher health. It's a very smart lineup meaning the third and fourth cards to reach the front have six armor that needs to get through while poison is working in their health
  • ARKEMIS THE BEAR clearly the highest health card by two put at the very very back just in case it's needed to pull out of the tree

Round 1

image.png

Before the round start time clearly not excited to see that my bronze account is playing against a full on level 6 gold leak account. Doesn't speak well for my chances, but I'm fairly excited for my resurrect and think it might give me a slight edge. It's the first round plays out we trade blows and escort my first knockout will only lose in one armor.

Round 2

image.png

As you can see this picture is taken prior to the poison taking its toll. As it is applied it is a reminder of how quickly this match is going to go. I secure my second knockout in round two but I'm not looking forward to start around 3:00

Round 3

image.png

Run through starts and I'm still feeling like it's a decent matchup for me. I have three monsters with a decent amount of health left they have three monsters as well with slightly more health potentially. I'm clearly going to lose avalor next round to the poison and get resurrected.

Round 4

image.png

Ground floor starts and I secure another knockout from Poison, bringing them down to only two monsters. I also lose avalor to start up this round but I get my all-powerful resurrect. This brings him back with only one health, but eight armor. That is a full complement that will allow me to take a lot of damage. I did secure another hit on deep workers armor but it won't matter as I suspect poison will take it out before I ever get a chance

Round 5

image.png

It's around five starts and the poison goes around the wall it's clear that the scariest thing on this board is it ever remaster started with poison. Even though I'm securing hits in round five and none of this matters as the shark still has armor.

Round 6

image.png

Was around 6:00 starts I secure another knockout bringing the bear to the front with only two health. I also lose my back row of monsters to the poison leave me with only one monster but still with five armor. After having my armor dropped to two from his attack I get slightly lucky and managed to hit the bear even though I am a 30% chance for Miss and I secure my knockout. Even if I didn't scare The knockout here poison would have gotten it at the start of next round before I lost my armor

Thoughts - and Chances to Win Again

image.png

Taking a look at my chances to win it appears that the tool says I have a 100% chance to win this matchup every time. I believe this is solid to the fact that I get to resurrect avalor and bring it back with all that armor and have it Outlast everyone. I am tempted to play around with the tool a bit to see if I should place avalor somewhere else in a lineup, same class since it's lowest health would probably mean it would still be the first to die given their lineup, but it's kind of a big risk to play. The last thing I would want would be to have another monster die and not come back with as much armor

Either way it was a great feeling to have my bronze leak that beat a full-on gold leak account and pull off a victory. I'm sure that player was not very happy with how it played out but this didn't feel like a fluke but more of us when the strategy.
