Featuring Bronze League Summoner and Monsters in Action!

I'm back this week to share another battle post featuring my bronze level deck in action in a brawl. I occasionally save off battles that I think might be shared worthy in the future and this is one of those. Luckily for me this battle also happen to have the rule set that we were focused on which is noxious fumes, wherever monster starts off poisoned and get somebody's to health at the start of every round until cleansed or brought back to life. Let's take a look at the battle and the lineup and how it all turned out.

CHALLENGE RULES

RULESET: Noxious Fumes

Description: All monsters are afflicted with the poison debuff at the start of the game.

Reasons Why I like it

I think this is an interesting rule set as it provides an opportunity to both offense and defense. Some cards are immune to poison, while other cards can give a boost to those that are remaining or cleanse them of the poison. Sometimes you can stack your mortar cards that are guaranteed to give a boost when they die just start around two even in the middle of the lineup, or you can use the card that has scavenger to get an additional health all those cards that die off early. Really it's an interesting rule set since every monsters guaranteed to take damage let's start to be drowned.

MANA: 19

Ruleset: Equal Opportunity: All units gain the opportunity ability which allows them to attack the unit with the lowest health on the enemy team.

Ruleset: Lost Legendries: Legendary monsters may not be used.

Ruleset: Noxious Fumes: All monsters are afflicted with the poison debuff at the start of the game.

SPLINTERS: Fire, Water, Earth, Dragon

Initial Rule Set and Mana Gameplay Thoughts

  • Rulesets
There are three rules that take into consideration, and sometimes it's hard to balance them all. I think the Lost legendaries rule set is the least impactful sense with only 19 mana it's less likely to use many legendaries or any at all. Possibly Djinn Oshannus could be used with water but that's about it.

Next up would be opportunity, where I think this actually provides a lot of utility to cards that otherwise might not have much. Giving all cards the ability to attack from back positions means they can do some damage, and ensure those cars with low health are taken out by poison at the start of the next round.

Noxious fumes as we covered before means any low health cards will be eliminated at the start of round 2, and every card is prone for death unless it has tank heel, or it gets cleansed.

  • Mana
Only 19 men of means this matches going to be difficult. Not many monster options to pick from that have immunity, and there's not a lot of ability to stack a healer on top of other cards or sneaking cleanse with one of the few cars that has it.
  • Splinters

Losing life and death has some big impact here. Life is one of the best splinters for having a two mana card with cleanse. Without that I think it's likely to stack up a team in fire or water both of which has a cleanse monster for under or equal to format of.

  • Summoner TARSA
I chose to go with tarsa since I want to give a health and attack boost to every low man of monster I slammed in here. Fire is known for a low man of monsters in my opinion so I figured if I could get a few free attacks I would do so

  • First Position RADIATED SCORCHER
I went with flame monkey on the odd chance it gets to attack first and has shatter ability on its tank. Unfortunately I probably should have put this in a different position so it could get potentially more than one attack before being poisoned.

  • Second Position FLAME MONKEY

This more than likely should have been my first position card, but either way need of them are expected to make it out of the second round

  • Third Position FORGOTTEN ONE
One of the few cards that I have that have immunity for bronze. It's very important that it won't take any poison damage and only take damage from my opponents

  • Fourth Position XENITH MONK
Also one of the few cards that fits into the 19 mana match that has tank hill. It will heal itself each round and I'm hoping it doesn't get a lot of additional attack to it to take it below the threshold of recovery

Opponent Lineup & Match Play

  • Summoner DRAKE OF ARNAK interesting and annoying choice here. The fact that they also have armor which means I'm less likely to knock anyone out in my first two attacks and they can last until the second of the ground
  • FUNGUS FLINGER
Pure cannon fodder in my opinion and they want the additional martyr boost to Djinn Chwala when it gets taken out
  • DJINN CHWALA
This is their biggest threat. It will have a ton of armor and health after it gets boosted twice it might be an issue to get out.
  • VENARI MARKSCRAT
Another great play that will add a mortar boost to both monsters on each side of it at the start of the second round
  • BERTROL GOBSON
Slick play here, with three health it's guaranteed to make it to the second round unless it is attacked and it will then receive a martyr boost before it gets an attack in a second round. If it's able to secure knockout then it will last to the fairground

Round 1

image.png

Before the round starts I'm not sure who's going to win. All I know is I think it's going to be close as we're all going to suffer a lot of damage from Poison effect
As round one plays out, I do get the first knockout. But it gives an immediate murder boost to Djinn Chwala giving it seven armor and 10 health. Unfortunately I don't get to attack with radiated scorcher before it is probably knocked out. I would have loved to have cracked all of that armor. I think next round I need to move it back in the lineup. Around continues and finishes off with me losing plain monkey.

Round 2

image.png

This is before the poison of the round, which is intriguing. The poison of the start of round two will take out Markscrat and give a martyr boost again. The rest of the round plays out as expected where thank you on monk is a critical role and that annoying thorns the significant damage to be forgotten one

Round 3

image.png

This again is before the poison is applied. Luckily for me they will lose Bertrol and take more health damage to Djinn Chwala. That will also take damage to Monk and only be left with a maximum of five health.

Finished around the place out I'm quite fortunate that monk has a higher speed and a tax first to take away the last remaining armor. That means the attack from the forgotten one which has a 20% chance to miss does five damage knocking Djinn Chwala down to health and making sure it will be eliminated at the start of the next round.

Round 4

image.png

All I have to do is wait for the poison to be applied and I win. I am left with one monster in the forgotten one with one health, and the monk after poison of having one health, which immediately heals itself to three. It was about as close as I think you can get.

Thoughts - and Chances to Win Again

image.png

Not sure what to think here as I'm only a 41% chance to repeat victory. That seems a little low for me but all it would take would be a mess or two at a 10 or 20% chance to miss and I am guaranteed a loss and given how this played out. Other than not having shatter in the back row to break down their armor I think this played out about as well as I could have hoped for attack order and armor elimination. Since this tool is not 100% accurate for brawls it's not quite sure whether or not I have a great lineup but I think I tried something similar again the next time.
