Splinterlands BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Featuring Stampede in Bronze league play

Featuring Bronze League Summoner and Monsters in Action!

I am back to highlight another bronze lake battle featuring stampede. This is probably one of my favorite rule sets given the addition of the new water seminar. Otherwise in bronze there are very few monsters that have trample, and it doesn't necessarily make sense to play them. I do really like trample when it is included in other rule sets like Melee mayhem, or melee only matches. I stuck with my go-to addiction of playing Possibilus the Wise To try to maximize the trampo fest

CHALLENGE RULES

RULESET: Stampede

Description: Trample will be able to retrigger infinitely as long as the trampling monster keeps killing other monsters.

Reasons Why I like it
I like this real set when I can play water. Having the summoner give every monster trample means stampede is amplified substantially. You can now have cards with reach and opportunity that have a chance to get tramples in the middle of a lineup. If you're able to add in an attack that has a double strike you're looking at up to four attacks per round. It can be an absolutely devastating approach.

MANA: 19

Ruleset: Stampede: Trample will be able to retrigger infinitely as long as the trampling monster keeps killing other monsters.

SPLINTERS: Water, Earth, Life, Dragon

Initial Rule Set and Mana Gameplay Thoughts

  • Rulesets
Initially the rule said favors the water lineup but a great counter would be to play dragon and thorns, or Earth and go magic heavy.
  • Mana
19 mana is extremely limiting and will become a challenge. It does not leave much room to build your team out, and a 6 minute summoner is a big hit to your total cap
  • Splinters
I don't think losing fire or death has much of an impact as neither of them have much in the trample world in the bronze league.
  • Summoner Possibilus the Wise
If I'm going to play a match that has unlimited trample, it usually makes sense to give up the two Mena and give every monster reach plus trample. That way on any knockout they will get a second attack

  • First Position Cruel Sethropod
Not traditionally a powerhouse, and especially prone to magic attacks, but I gambled they would be using melee attacks and the armor would come in handy

  • Second Position Demented Shark
I wanted to both boost the melee attack of my monsters as well as give a second position monster that also had armor.

  • Third Position Feasting Seaweed
Typically a terrible monster to play given its very low health, but the two health boost from the summoner makes it a more solid and playable card. The only downside with the opportunity and boosted for damage is that it's still only has one speed.

  • Fourth Position Torrent Fiend
Clearly just put back here in case of sneak attack. If it makes it to the front it's unlikely to do much

Opponent Lineup & Match Play

  • Summoner Lorna Shine a real troublesome summoner in low mana matches as every first attack is negated and nothing is ever done. Can completely shift a match
  • Drybone Barbarian
Great melee card, especially with rage. The good news for me is I managed to play two cards that had an armor to help protect from the first one
  • Dumacke Exile
Very solid sneak attack of card, I am lucky that it is only a level one and at a level three. The level three would have another melee damage and would be even more troublesome
  • Gargoya Scraper
Looks like I got lucky and paired against a level 1 only team. No real pros or Khan versus other level ones other than it does have a melee attack

Round 1

image.png

Round one starts off and my attacks don't do as much as I hoped because of the Divine shield. I lose my armor on sephiropod, while doing just enough damage to enrage dry bone barbarian. This gives him the speed boost and damage high enough to take out sethropod in the next round

Round 2

image.png

Round two starts off with a couple of whammys to my lineup. The first attack I lose torrent fiend, while the second attack on my lineup knocks out sethropod. I do manage to knock out gargoya scraper, and we are both down to two monsters

Round 3

image.png

Round three is very big for me as I manage to hit dry bone barbarian with feasting seaweed. This secures a knockout of the most powerful officer and trigger my first trample. Well the trample does miss it puts my team at advantage. The downside risk is both of my monsters have a 10 to 30% Miss probability but I do get two attacks around and do more damage

Round 4

image.png

Round four is a split for me. While demented shark does hit its damages negated by Divine shield, and feasting seed weed misses again. Demented shark loses to health and will last three rounds until knocked out

Round 5

image.png

Around five I lose another to health demented shark, but I'm able to remove its armor, and get Lucky with feasted seaweed securing another hit. This leaves him with only one health.

Round 6

image.png

Around sex ends in victory estimated shark hits and knocks out their last card. It was getting close as if I would have missed both times this round it would have been one of the one with the 30% missed chance for me.

Thoughts -

Trample turned out to be a non-factor in this matchup as the only trample I triggered ended up being a mess. This is probably more likely to do with the fact that it was a 19 minute match, and there were not a lot of knockouts to be had. The combination of fewer monsters Plus opportunity attacks at the rear of lineups reduced to the number of tramples. I still think that playing Possibilus the Wise in trampolines is usually a good idea. Outside of a demon shark and a dragon card or two there is no real trample in bronze.

Your battle shows the usefulness of Possibilus the Wise in battles with the Stampede ruleset. Good strategy!
