Splinterlands Monster Highlight - Usut Adds 4 Levels of Blood Lust!

Another Bronze League level Highlight!!
Have another great highlight post. This is highlighting one of the legendary Dragon cards that can really become powerful to do one of the more rare abilities for non Gladius cards, blood lust. I think the cards like this can become exceptionally powerful in the lower ranks as they can start to pad their stats and become a one-hit kill machine that just keeps rolling. I think as I play higher man of matches these legendary cards are becoming more and more key to my success.

Weekly Monster Highlights - Usut

Edition: SOULBOUND REWARD CARDS
Rarity: LEGENDARY
Element: DEATH
Attack: MAGIC
Abilities: FLYING
Abilities: BLOODLUST
Health: 9
Speed: 1
Attack: 2
Armor: 4
Reasons Why I like it
There are so many reasons to like this card. Besides having blood loss, it also has flying which increases its chance for Mrs and becomes exceptionally useful in several match types. Having four armor and nine health is also a great advantage and it has a base to magic damage. I think the biggest downsides are it one speed, the 10 mana cost will keep it out of lower mana matches, and the only two base magic attack can easily be countered by the death summoner to be only one. Even with these small drawbacks it's been quickly becoming one of my favorite go-to carts

Ruleset: Briar Patch: All Monsters have the Thorns ability.
SPLINTERS: Fire, Water, Death
Initial Rule Set and Mana Gameplay Thoughts
RULESETS the rule sets of briar patch in my opinion will push this match to be in mostly arrow in magic attack match. It will become too painful to take two damage every time you melee someone. I also think the aim true ability will give more Credence to arrows as they will no longer Miss, and are less likely to be countered and reduced by monsters abilities.
MANA
46 mana in my opinion it's a really good spot to be. It's very generous in the card you can pick, and you can pick any card you want just not every card you want. I think it allows for a very well balanced full team if you so choose we'll still living in that room for strategy not having all power houses.Splinters
Interesting thing here is the splinter choices as fire will likely not be picked due to the risk to meleecards, water while having a nice mix of both arrows and magic attacks, seems a little bit riskier as the deaf unit reduced magic attacks or aero attacks depending on the summoner. Therefore I think it's most likely both teams will be picking a death somewhere either to reduce arrows or magic.
Summoner THADDISU BROOD have you magic has the most dangerous for my phone to use as it will usually go right under my armor and just attack my health. At least with arrows I can pick some monsters that have a little bit of armor to help protect them until around 2:00 or 3:00
First Position HARKLAW
Not a great traditional play if I'm assuming my opponent is playing magic, but without Earth and with reducing the magic attacks by one I think putting it here for the off chance of melee cards plus aero cards getting their tax cut in half by Shield is worth itSecond Position QUEEN OF CROWS
I think it's an undervalued card. Being able to attack from both the background first position, with high health and decent damage makes it a great card to put in second positionThird Position REVELAER
I wanted to throw this in here as way too try to stun my opponents. I thought it was to hopefully have them skip a self-heal or potentially a big attackFourth Position VENARI MARKSRAT
This is really here with my lowest health card and the first card to be hit by opportunity, as well as boosting my two magic cardsFifth Position USUT I wanted it towards the end of the lineup to have the chance to occur with much magic damage via bloodlust as possible
Sixth Position DHAMPIR STALKER
Who doesn't like a heavy damage three arrow attack with true strike even with aim true ruleset. It should be good back here and unlikely to be taken out by sneak cards.

Opponent Lineup & Match Play
- Summoner KELYA FRENDUL well a little surprised, the additional armor Plus speed is always hard to get past. Even when the game type isn't a perfect logical choice, that speed and armor completely rule
- DIEMONSHARK an interesting choice given the rule sets, but it should have enough armor to last a while
- DJINN OSHANNUS a clear choice for this rule set. High speed plus phase Plus void plus thorns, plus magic damage which means it would have been in any lineup that shows water
- VENARI WAVESMITH a solid play, especially considering is going to add two more armor to every monster having lots of protections from arrows and melee
- SWAMP SPITTER it's a great choice, and especially utilitarian card for water. They repair on a two arrow attack is highly valuable. And it can really help save your cards as it repairs your armor
- DEEPLURKER guess I'm not surprised, I should start to count the number of water lineups where I don't see deep lurker played
- GARGOYA DEVIL I'm pretty solid choice, especially at level four having the increased damage and close range when it moves to the front is a solid choice
Round 1

For the round starts I'm not exactly happy to see that I'm facing off against monsters that are at least two levels above mine. Having a level four so whenever it's level two, with half of the cards love with the match leaves me feeling a little bit concerned
having Markscrat as an opportunity Target paid off very well. Highlight around one for me was getting both my magic cards to be boosted. Well there were no knockouts the boost to help to do some significant damage to be in charge.
Round 2

Is wrong two starts I think we're both still fairly even with me to being the first to lose a card. I'm also slightly disappointed that USAT wasn't able to get the first knockout for me. Is the wrong progressed soaring to really starting to impact the melee monsters, and that repair is plain huge role for my opponent giving them their armor license
Round 3

I start around three things still look fairly even but I might be slightly behind at this point I have a couple of monsters that are low on health and will likely be eliminated this round I got lucky in a couple instances. I was able to stun Djinn Oshannus and deep liquor switched its Target leaving stalker around another round
Round 4

Ground floor starts and I'm down to three cards versus my opponents five and I'm starting to get very concerned. Luckily for me the stun allowed my card to survive as well as securing another stun this round keeping it out of action. I will say this time around the repair actually helped secure a knockout for USAT otherwise The knockout would have been secured by stalker. This is the first knockout it's secured and the boost brings it up to four magic damage, while increasing its speed over and health to help stave off the bonus attacks.
Round 5

Is around 5:00 starts it doesn't look good just at the first glance with one monster versus four, but my monster will be a one-hit kill for every member on your team, one of their cards deep lurker will be killed as soon as it attacks me, and it will only be hitting my armor. It almost looks like each kill I get will put my armor back and keep me around it plays out exactly as anticipated securing a knockout in round 5 and getting a boost to five magic damage and four speed.
Round 6

It's still one monster versus 3, but once again my monster will be guaranteed the kill shot this round getting both a boost to health armor speed magic attack. Has a round plays out I actually get two kills, as the thorns give me a kill giving me two boosts, and boosting me to seven magic, 6 speed which is absolutely insane.
Round 7

Around 7:00 starts with a guaranteed victory and I'll get my last boost ing my card to eight damage and seven speed. Having a card that has that highest speed Plus 8 magic damage is almost unthinkable for me.
Thoughts - and Chances to Win Again

Pulling this up on my favorite splinter tools.io website it looks like I am a 100% chance to repeat my victory. Well it may not look like it on the surface, and while it may not look like it while you're playing and it can be one versus four, the fact that USAT has bloodlust is the key. After getting a martyr boost and a knockout boost it becomes an unstoppable dragon just eating the soules of my opponent one by one while adding to its attack power.
I will make sure to try to include it in as many lineups as I can and try to get on a bloodlust roll like this again
