New Opportunities 2023

A lot has happened since my last post, in fact I missed the deadline for the last Blog Of The Month for the Silver Bloggers community aptly titled "March Madness".

Silverbeard No More?

The first thing I should address is the now lack of the "silver beard" facial growth that was the basis for my nickname within the group. The beard made me look older than I actually am and those who liked my facial follicles are no longer in my life.

The removal of the beard aslo serves as a way to forgive their betrayal and move on with my life.

I started growing it as a joke attempt to look like Snake Pliskin at the beginning of the Covid 19 lockdowns.

I also managed to catch Covid 19 after 3 years of being clean and careful. I never want to experience that again.

Will the silver beard return? I have no idea at this stage, but it will be on my own terms.

Goodbye Splinterlands

As some of you know I used to work for Splinterlands as a contractor. This contract abruptly ended around this time last year and ever since I have been trying to extricate myself from the company and anything related to them.

I signed a non disclosure agreement so I won't mention them any further publicly, but I will say that it's important to protect your reputation at all costs, and to trust your instincts as they are rarely wrong.

With that in mind, my entire Splinterlands card collection is for sale on the offical market. I've already made AU$13,000 in a single week.

Capital gains tax is going to be a headache this year!

I am also going to be selling my land plots and my guild to the highest bidder. Let's see what other talented people can do with it.

Future Plans

I'll be turning 50 in September and there's a lot of things I want to accomplish before then.
Or maybe I'll spend my entire 50th year doing the things that make me happy.

I'd like to travel overseas, but this has always been out of my reach financially. I need to renew my passport and see how things pan out.

Better Call Shaidon!

One of my goals this year was to work single day. It hasn't panned out that way so far, but in early March I started a full time, permanent job at at call centre.

I needed the consistent income they promised, but despited being warned by many people, I wasn't prepared for levels of toxicity with in the company. It's entirely negative, the toxicty is of the positive flavour too.

I've been having anxiety attacks every day for the last few weeks; teeth chattering and hands shaking.

I don't really want to work there as my health has to come first.

There are other jobs that don't cause the same reaction. The top photo is me having fun at the Adelaide Oval.

It's important for me to have fun when I work.

Thank you for reading.
