I feel like our @Hive.Pizza Splinterlands guild is hitting our groove and we are earning a steady stream of Merits in our brawls. Merits are the currency that can be used to purchase Gladius cases. These Gladius cases contain Gladiator cards that can only be used in Brawls.

I have earned enough Merits to redeem my third Gladius case. These special cards are awesome when used in the brawls and I have grown so attached to some of them that I find myself wishing I could deploy them in regular ranked battles too!

I typically brawl in the Untamed frays, so I didn't experience any difference with the new Chaos Legion expansion. However, when competing in ranked battles, I have seen a tremendous change in strategy now that all these Chaos Legion cards are out in the wild. Strategies I used to depend on to win in the Silver ranks are struggling with some of the new Chaos Legion abilities.

Let's have a look at what was contained in my third Gladius Case:

This opening contains one rare card and four commons. Even some of the common Gladiator cards can pack a huge punch when used properly during battle.

Isgald Vorst - This card combines the Opportunity ability with Bloodlust and since Opportunity targets some potentially low-mana cards, this one could be useful for building up its power and health quickly via the Bloodlust.

Chimney Wallstop - This is my second Chimney Wallstop that I have received and is by far my favorite Gladiator card. Placed in the second position behind a Magnor, with a Yodin summoner, these cards are nearly unstoppable.

Helmet Kharafax - Here you've got yourself a fairly decent blocker if it is placed in a back row position so it has time to build up its health stats as cards are eliminated.

Krash Wanderford - Another blocker card. I'll have to experiment with this high speed card and figure out some blocker strategies with these Gladiator cards.

Palidon Rakk - The one rare card in this pack doesn't contain any ability other than Bloodlust. Frankly, I think Chimney is a better card than this, but the 12 health and 3 melee damage could come in handy as a tank that would be slow to wear down.

Brawls Just Finished!

I've been using these new cards in my brawls and they are making a big difference in my win rate. I find that when I face an opponent who does not use Gladiator cards that it becomes quite easy to overpower them quickly and win the battle.

I'll have my next #BrawlReport posted in the next day or so, but in the meantime, you can check out my last report here: https://www.splintertalk.io/@shauner/shauner-s-19th-splinterlands-brawl
