Introduction

I'm here to share my Battle Mage Secrets blog post for the Battle Mage Secrets Challenge. The theme featured this week is Explosive Weaponry. In this ruleset, all units get blast! I will be sharing some tips for this ruleset as well as sharing a battle featuring this ruleset.

My Strategy For Explosive Weaponry Ruleset

In Explosive Weaponry Ruleset, one of the best recommended tips is to use a card with reflection shield.

This will help block the splash damage. Usually you want to either have this in the 2nd position or the 2nd to last positions if you have a unit with taunt in the back. Kinjo is probably one of the best to use since it's neutral and low mana. Some other notable cards that I like to use in this ruleset are Tide Bider and Runi.

As for choosing a summoner in this ruleset, I find it best to find one that can give speed advantage since that speed helps get all your damage first which in a blast ruleset is crucial. That extra splash damage could kill units that normally wouldn't die in the first round.

One of the summoners I like to use in this ruleset is Jacek. Giving the team the scattershot ability can actually be making the range and magic untis be like bombers bombing the backline since it can randomly send attacks to any unit. It adds a bit RNG but it can be super effective and that +2 speed is a huge buff as well.

The Battle

I played this battle on my account, shawnnft. The battle link can be found here. This battle is in brawls and it is in fray 12 which is Wild Diamond. The ruleset for this battle was Little League, Fire & Regret, and Explosive Weaponry. It was a 29 mana cap battle with only life and dragon element active.

Discussing My Lineup

Summoner, Quix The Devious - I chose Quix The Devious mainly for that speed debuff. This is the main reason since the - ranged doesn't really matter since there's a fire & regret ruleset.

First Position, Xenith Monk - I chose Xenith Monk to be the main tank because it's one of the best little league tanks in the game. It has void, heal and magic reflect and good stats which make it a great tank.

Second Position, Venator Kinjo - I chose Venator Kinjo for the reflection shield to block the splash damage from blast. Another useful part about Kinjo is the slow it gives to the enemy team.

Third Position, Stitch Leech - The main purpose of this card was to be a tank after Venator Kinjo died. It would gain a fair amount of health from life leech to help it tank later in the battle. I also chose it for the sneak so it can do some blast damage to the backline.

Fourth Position, Time Mage - The purpose of this card was to also slow my enemy again and also remove armor from the enemy team with dust. This card would also be my only card to do some magic damage.

Fifth Position, Dhampir Infiltrator - The main purpose for Dhampir Infiltrator is to attack and clear the backline with Stitch Lee. Usually the backline will have the "carry" units so it's best to aim those first instead of the enemy tank.

Last Position, Uraeus - Uraeus is my backline sneak creature but placed in the back because it has 1 armor to at least be able to take 1 attack from the opponent.

Analysis of The Battle

If you watched the battle, I won super fast and basically deleted my opponent. You can see that the speed debuffs played a huge role in my victory. It allowed my sneak units to go first and my Dhampir Infiltrator to go before the opponent's unit and cleared them from the battle. Another helpful thing that happened in this match was the rust from my Time Mage. It basically countered the Truthspeaker from the opponent trying to give armor to team. I believe these are the main factors that allowed me to win.

Do I Like Explosive Weaponry Ruleset?

I actually like this ruleset. It's super fun to play as a fake Yodin with different elements. It definitely makes some interesting strategies like the Jacek bomber strategy that I like to use.
