Introduction

Hi everybody,

My name is @shawnnft and I'm here to share my challenge blog post for the Share Your Battle Challenge. The theme featured this week is Djinn Inferni. I will discuss one of my battles using it and my thoughts on the card.

When To Use Djinn Inferni

I feel Djinn Inferni is good in keep your distance rulesets with Jacek. It's also good in mid-high mana battles preferably with an Equalizer ruleset. Other than these cases, I find it very hard to use and usually not worth it as it's just not a strong card in the meta.

The Battle

I played this battle on my alt account, spl4life. The battle link can be found here. This battle is in champ modern league. The ruleset for this battle was what doesn't kill you and keep your distance with a 56 mana cap. Earth and life element was not usable. Based on the ruleset, I knew that speed would be huge since everyone had enrage which made me decide to use Jacek for this battle since it gives +2 speed. Byzantine Kitty might be the better card in this situation but I don't own it and it's too expensive to rent.

Discussing My Lineup

First Position, Almo Cambio - I chose Almo Cambio to be my main tanker. This card is super OP in keep your distance since there's only magic and range and Almo has both return fire and magic reflect to return enemy damage. In addition to that, Almo has super high speed so with enrage, he can dodge almost everything making him the perfect tank for this battle provided opponent doesn't have scattershot, snipe, sneak or opportunity on their magic/ranged monsters.

Second Position, Lava Launcher - I chose Lava Launcher as a secondary tank. It's a decent secondary tank having 7 armor and it provided good utility to the team with it's stun. Combined with Jacek, Lava Launcher could potentially stun a target in the backline like a healer or someone with a lot of damage and that would be huge in winning the battle.

*Third Position, Cornaelus - I chose Cornealus for this third position as the best last tank before my low damage carries in the back. Cornealus is super good in this ruleset too because like Almo he has magic reflect and return fire which is guaranteed damage back at the enemy since their damage can only be magic or range in this ruleset. Cornealus also has a nice self heal which will let him sustain a decent amount of damage.

Fourth Position, Djinn Inferni - I chose Djinn Inferni in this spot as a big dps and utility with the stun. This position is relative safe from snipe and would stall more time for the ranged creatures in the last two positions if it ever reached to that point. This card also could have been super strong if opponent played 10+ mana creatures but they didn't.

Fifth Position, Supply Runner - The main purpose for choosing Supply Runner in this position was to speed boost my team. With the enrage ruleset, the speed boost can help make the opponent miss a lot of their attacks.

Final Position, Countess Sinash - The purpose for Countess Sinash here is to be the finisher. This card is super good with Jacek to give another speed boost. In addition to that with the scattershot from Jacek, it allows Countess Sinash to hit the opponent in the backline doing splash damage to two or three monsters.

Did My Strategy Work? & Would I try differently next time?

Yes, my strategy worked. If you watched the battle, I overwhelmed my opponent. The super speed combo of Jacek + Supply Runner + Countess Sinash is super strong as it basically guarantees you to attack first. Jacek comes in handy in these keep your distance matches since it allows you to ignore the frontline or any taunt monsters. In this battle, you can see that my cards were hitting the backline and ignoring the super tanky Baakjira. Meanwhile the opponent, was taking a bunch of damage from the return fire and magic reflect from my Almo Cambio. I'm very content with my team for this battle and I don't think I would change it unless the opponent beat me. If the opponent beat me, then maybe I would consider remembering and using their line up in the future provided I had the same cards as them.

Do I Like Djinn Inferni? Why Or Why Not?

To answer this, I don't really like Djinn Inferni. It's a bit of a situational card in my opinion. With it's low hp, it's a bit hard to use him as it's an easy target to get insta killed by the enemy that has opportunity. It's not a must have card in my opinion even though I own one. Even for the art, I think it's quite mediocre compared to the other cards. There's better cards to own that are more staple and has more use cases.
