In the most recent townhall and big announcement from Splinterlands it was not the most happy news, players were expecting. Personally, for me I was slightly shocked but I understand why it had to happen and I will just go through some of my thoughts on it. For those that aren't paying attention to Splinterlands news, Splinterlands team just dropped the news of downsizing and restructuring the organization about a week ago.

I feel sad for those that have to lose their job from this but I understand that this decision was probably the best for the company to take. Splinterlands needs to manage their expenses and one of the biggest expenses they could cut out are employees so it makes sense to me. Recently, SPLTV also ended which was one of their marketing tactics to try to onboard more players and it didn't seem to get many new players I feel. Despite this, I liked SPLTV because it gave a place to hang out with other people that enjoyed the game. I'm really going to miss SPLTV but I will have the memories kept with me as well as the biggest memory of winning the GF Kitty which I will always remember every time I see the card in my collection.

In addition to that, they decided to split Non-Splinterlands stuff to another company called Invennium Corp. I'm happy about this because I always felt that they were trying to do so much stuff that there was a lack of focus. I watch a lot of shark tank and there's many times I here the shark say that they feel the business owner that is looking for investment doesn't have a focus. I'm also happy that Yabapmatt will be taking care of the Splinterlands side while Aggroed will be taking care of the Non-Splinterlands stuff. I feel many others are also happy about this since many consider Yabapmatt as the genius behind Splinterlands. Aggroed is great as well but if I had to choose between the two Yabapmatt all the way. Low-key I also feel there might have been some arguments within the team with different ideas for the direction of Splinterlands since both Yabapmatt and Aggroed do have their own ideas as co-founders which could have been the reason for this split as well.

I feel many people want to see Splinterlands last a long time kind of like how pokemon, yugioh and magic the gathering TCGS are still being played. I'll be here for the roller coaster ride and hopefully I can see all these items being hit at 100%.

The post also talked about Rebellion and how they wanted it to be owned by the DAO and that the DAO would pay Splinterlands $250k to make it. Originally all this money would go to the team but it will be a shared revenue of 50/50 if the proposal passes. Honestly, I think this is a great idea. I understand the concerns people might have but if you think about it there's no way 100k packs won't be sold because that's for the first airdrop for the promo. This will basically almost cover the payment to Splinterlands since I'm not including the possible discounts with the vouchers being used.

There was also some information mentioned that these cards were going to add some crazy new mechanics. Based on this it makes me a bit fomo and I think I may have to save some money for the pre-sale as these cards might be a true gamechanger to the meta. It's also expected to be released before the end of the year so that may happen within the 3 upcoming months. I think this may come during xmas time as that would be a great xmas gift to have for the Splinterlands ecosystem.

It's not the end of the world. I believe this is going to be a great fresh start. Splinterlands will be super focused now and I hope it delivers and exceeds all our expectations. We are still in a bear market. Stay strong everybody; this is not the time to fold!
