Introduction

Hi everybody,

My name is @shawnnft and I'm here to share my challenge blog post for the Share Your Battle Challenge. The theme featured this week is Dragons. It's an element that can play with one of any other element in Splinterlands. Dragons are usually strong in high mana battles as well as rulesets involving earthquake because dragons have strong monsters with flying. They are also good in keep your distance because of CL cards like void dragon and chaos dragon. In my battle, I will be featuring the strength of Void Dragon in the keep your distance ruleset.

The Battle & Discussing My Lineup

I played this battle on my scholar account, bltzr-wizard-727. The battle link can be found here. This battle is in gold modern league. Based on the rulesets, I had three summoners in mind. I was going to play Jacek, Kelya or Quix. In the end, I chose to play quix because of the keep your distance ruleset; it's strong because of the -1 to range attacks. Unfortunately, for this battle, it wasn't as effective as I predicted but I had void dragon and bakjira to cover the possibility of magic damage which did happen in the battle.

First Position, Void Dragon - I chose Void Dragon for the first position because I needed a frontline that had magic damage or no damage like Baakjira. I chose Void Dragon over Djinn Oshannus because void dragon is lower mana and it's main purpose was to tank. If I chose Djinn Oshannus it would have been a waste of 3 mana.

Second Position, Baakjira - I chose Baakjira for the second position because this was where the true tank would be. Due to the ruleset being target practice, any monster that didn't have scattershot that would be played in this ruleset would be hitting the second position. Baakjira could tank a lot of damage with it's void and healing.

*Third Position, Angelic Mandarin - I chose Angelic Mandarin for the third position as the tank after Baakjira died. Triage was also a good ability to help heal Baakjira as well

Fourth Position, Kulu Swimhunter - I chose Kulu Swimhunter mainly as a DPS. It's job was just to do as much damage as possible while Baakjira and Angelic Mandarin were tanking.

Fifth Position, Merdhampir - I chose Merdhampir because I felt like the opponent would choose Baakjira. Merdhampir is good against Baakjira because it can cripple it to reduce Baakjira's max HP so it would heal less and less after every round. Merdhampir also would have gained a lot of extra health from life leech which would have made it a good final tank for my final position.

Final Position, Igor Darkspear - I chose Igor Darkspear as my finisher. Igor has a good stun that can clutch the win towards the end. Since it's all the way in the back, there was plenty of times it could trigger its stun throughout the battle which did end up happening and luckily there was no scattershot to hit Igor.

Did My Strategy Work? & Would I try differently next time?

Yes, my strategy worked. My tanks did their job and my DPS also did their job. It was a clean win; the match wasn't even close. I don't think I would try differently next time as this lineup was already a really solid lineup based on the mana and rulesets given.

Do I Like Dragons? Why Or Why Not?

To answer this, yes I like Dragons. I love dragons because they are very versatile since you can match them with one of any other element. Personally, I also find them to be strong cards to rent/own. The must haves I feel for climbing the ranked ladder are at least the big 3 dragons from Chaos Legions set, Carnage Titan, Chaos Dragon & Void Dragon.

The End

If you made it here, thank you so much for reading all the way to the end. In my last blog post, I discussed about Aruchard Bot Farm. It's basically information on how one of the strongest bot farms is running. If you are interested in this, you can find the blog here.

If you are interested in trying Splinterlands please use this link here. If you did use my referal link, let me know in the comment section, I will do my best to help whether that be delegating you cards, sending you cards and teaching you how to play. Once again, thank you so much.
