End of Season Rewards And Considerations

Hello everyone, how are you?

This season was one of the hardest I've had so far! This statement could even be an outburst, but I don't really consider it, it's more of a statement and at the same time a warning that shows me that I must continue steadier on the path and try to evolve my way of playing and analyzing this incredible world of Splinterlands.

The points I want to raise are:

  1. In my opinion, in general the cards became more expensive to rent, that is, with this appreciation, it became more difficult to rent strong cards that gave me power to get to a better league, again I ended up in silver 1 and got 18 chests.
  2. I caught a lot of strong opponents who for some reason started to show up more often. Despite the high rental value of the cards, there were significantly many legendary summoners, high level cards and a lot of Mylor Crowling (the one who became my tormentor). With a stronger ranking, I ended up not being able to earn much DEC to maintain a higher card rent.
  3. Lack of attention when renting cards. This was another point that I missed a lot, I rented weak cards for high prices, a little lack of patience and skill in knowing how to look at the market and predict the highs and lows of the cards. I rented some low level common cards which I later saw had even higher level gold and lower rent value. Unfortunately when I realized this, these cards had already been rented.

Learning every day, I keep my hard way, but I don't think about giving up. I changed my strategy and now the idea is to hold as much DEC as possible and plan the purchases of the next expansion packs "Chaos Legion". In the video we can see that I received 1 Demented Shark, some potions and a total of 219 DEC. Nothing very exciting, but I'm sure I learned from my mistakes and will pay more attention to the next steps. Every day I love Splinterlands and its challenges more!

I have been playing for 5 days now, and I´ve already noticed the uprise in rental prices. I also see a lot of new players asking in our discord which cards they should get to climb up ranks, thinking that ranking up is always a good thing. That was the main reason I submitted that post of mine. But sadly it its dont seems to be reaching enough ppl since a lot of them is too lazy to do a simple search, and asking for help and solutions is easier. And unfurtunately there are also other players that gives generic answers as " u get this card, and that other card" " make this splinter with this cards", them new players just go on spending their DEC, climbing up to silver or even gold, and getting a bunch of small reward chests. Ofcourse the higher u get the more chests get, and with that, more chances to hit a jackpot in a chest, but a lot of them haven´t figured out yet the costs of it. And by the end of this season, we will see a lot of just arrived players with a low budget to start quitting the game.

I completely agree with you, I've been playing for about 4 months and I've already reached gold 3 about 4 times, it was as far as I got, but for now it's impossible, just rare cards that I rented for 1 or 2 DEC a day, they are costing 20, 30 or 40 DEC per day, it is impossible to "open your pocket" to rent. With that I changed the strategy, practically rented all the common level 3 cards, level 2 summoners (level 3 is practically unfeasible too) and I'm trying to spend as little as possible. The strategy now is to post, join HIVE and HDB and buy Credits within the splinterlands in order to buy as many packs as possible in the next expansion. This strategy that you did in your post that I read is a very valid alternative at the moment, trying to be in the top 20 and receiving those DECs seems to be the best, join first, wait for the expansion and evaluate what can be done.
