Splinterlands Art Contest Week 206: Hyperpop Obsidian
Hi! Today, I drawn Obsidian from splinterlands in a Hyperpop style of painting.I want to explore ways on how could I draw a character in a different way than the usual so that is why I came up with this. Let me show you my process:
First, I filled the canvas with a light color. I made sure that it is not that saturated to make the character that I will be drawing pop out more.
I, then, moved on to the line art. But since this part won't be on the final result, I just drew the line using thick brush. It is just a guide That I will be using while I paint.
Next is I placed the flat color of the character. Nothing to say much here lol.
For the shadows, I used a very saturated Red and Blue. I placed it on the places where light won't be hitting. I also took the liberty of shaping the lines on whatever I want, I didn't color the complete shadowy part of the peinting but instead, I just placed the colors like an outline short of way.
I then moved on to the highlights of the painting. I placed the color yellow and green to the places where light will be hitting directly. Again, I made sure that the colors are overly saturated.
And lastly, I added the smaller details and I added some texture in the background.
