My Experience with Hive Blockchain and its communities

Hi there my dearest friends and family on CENT and Hive. I have always deemed it a great chance to be part of a vibrant growing platform like this one and to contribute to its development.

I believe it's been over two to three weeks since I joined the Hive Blockchain and in today's blog post I would love to share my experience with the Blockchain and the communities I have joined on the Blockchain.

The idea of this blog post is to encourage those that are not aware of the Hive Blockchain incase SEO makes my post discoverable to others. My blog is also meant to encourage those that have been on the platform for a while to keep contributing because I believe Hive has a really bright future.

How I discovered the Hive Blockchain

Well every experience has the first time it started. For me the discovery of Hive I think was an eventuality. Based on my niche and the gigs I do, discovering Hive was kinda bound to happen. I'm a full time blogger and I got very interested in the world of cryptocurrency. So you can imagine when writing and cryptocurrency merges, it's basically the description of Hive guys. I was searching through a lot of sites and watching quite a number of videos related to the merge of cryptocurrency and blogging which led me to a lot of videos and sites that talked about Hive.

To be honest, I was a bit skeptical about whether or not this Hive thing was true or a scam. However, you'll never know until you give it a try. That's exactly what I did. I went unto their page and well the first platform I saw was "Hive Blog". Apparently I have finally understood that it's just a frontend to the Hive Blockchain just like PeakD. I kinda enjoy using both though.

So I tried to sign up, it asked for my email and other stuff. I gave all the credentials needed and bam!!! There was a document and some set of keys it gave me. At that time I didn't know much about the Hive Blockchain system. Apparently, the security of your account is totally in your hands. Even the developers behind the platform cannot get it unless you literally hand it to them. It gave me a bit of trust in Hive. That's when my journey to becoming a Hiver started. I intend to be a full-time blogger and writer on this platform which is why I work tirelessly to bring everyone good content everyday.

The learning curve

Well, Hive was new to me and so I had to learn a lot about the platform and how it worked. I finally understood that it was basically a social platform built on top of a Blockchain technology. Understanding how Hive worked was not that difficult at all. Getting used to the platform and its operations is pretty easy guys. I learned about their plagiarism rules and now I don't take images from anywhere unless it's the recommended sites like"Pixabay", "Pexels" or "Shutterstock". I believe there are more out there though but these are usually the ones I work with. I learned about their different cryptocurrencies, Hive and HBD. I also learned how to power up Hive and how to convert HBD into Hive and the other way round. I'll definitely make a post on that one of these days for all the newbies that may not be aware of it. Don't worry, your young writer @skyehi got your back.

What makes me love Hive

Well after some few days learning about the platform and making a few posts, I really fell in love with the platform. I liked the platform so much that I decided to be a full time Hiver. There are some things that really makes me appreciate the platform.

Well for starters, the platform really appreciates its content creators. They understand that content creation and blogging ain't easy and so the authors deserve a reward. The coolest part is that the higher the quality of your post, the more people will upvote you and the more you will earn. The earnings can be claimed after 7 days from the time of posting and it's split between the voters and the content creator.

Hive as a social platform is Decentralized and Uncensored. This may seem like two big words for people that have not heard it before because it was like that for me when I didn't understand it🤣.

Well being decentralized simply means it's not like Facebook or Twitter 😂. There's no single authority or organization that controls how posts perform on the platform. I'll make a dedicated post on this topic as well. Also because it lacks censorship, no government or agency can decide to take down your post just because it makes them look bad even though it was true. This makes the truth come out.

The best communities I found

Well if you want to get noticed on Hive as a newcomer or even an old comer, you're going to have to join some communities. The reason is quite simple. The communities are were people are most active and that's where your post can get the attention of people to read, give feedback and also upvote it. Communities are very good especially when you don't have much followers of your own.

The funny thing for me is that, my favorite community is not exactly the biggest community on Hive. There are giants like LeoFinance, Pinmapple and OCD. However my favorite communities are two, Cent Community and VIMM Community.

Well the Cent community has been supporting my stories and articles ever since I started. I have come to love the community and I have dedicated myself to contributing to help grow the platform.

Well when it comes to the VIMM community, unfortunately for now it's a bit down. I can't even find it online so I'm waiting patiently to see whether or not it will come back online.

The Earnings on Hive compared to other similar platforms

Well let's talk rewards shall we. I have to be honest and I said this in one post I made on Hive Fest community that, I have earned more on Hive than any online platform ever and I have only been on the platform for about two weeks. Yeah, the internet ain't an easy place to make money but when you find a money making platform, it can really pay off. I mean let's face it guys, when did you ever make money liking a post on Facebook. Never 😂😂 but on Hive you can earn curator rewards(you know, the money you make for upvoting content).

The DAPPs of Hive

Now one thing Hive does which I love so much is that it allows everyone to be a developer of the platform. Communities on Hive can have their own dedicated websites linked to Hive. These sites are called DAPPs. Leofinance, Eceny, VIMM tv, Splinterlands and others are all Hive DAPPs. I'll be sharing a dedicated blog post about all DAPPs guys.

The future of Hive

Now I strongly believe that Hive truly has a bright future. The value of its cryptocurrency will rise, more people will join the platform and your value as content creators or curators will increase. There's a lot that will be discussed during this year's HiveFest and I can't wait to watch it. Now there's even this project called the Cryptoadoption project where people of Sucre State can purchase real life stuff and pay using cryptocurrency, HBD. I can't wait to make my first purchase. It will definitely make life easy.

In Conclusion.

Well guys, wouldn't want to make my blog too long and bore you with too many details so I prefer to end the blog right here. I hope you learned a lot and was inspired by my experience on Hive to keep pushing forward. I would be more than happy to respond to any comments or opinions or questions you may have regarding today's blog. Have a lovely day guys. I'll see you next time. Byee❤️
