The Value of Hive Blockchain to bloggers - By A Blogger Skyehi
Hi there my fellow Hivers and dear friends of the Cent community, I'v been on Hive for a little over one week and it's been a joyful ride guys. These few days have been a teachable moment for me. I have been well exposed to the awesome world of Blockchain based social media platforms.
Hive has really impressed me and proven to be one of the best if not the best modern and futuristic social media platform I've ever seen.
Well, I'm a content creator, a blogger, a writer and a cryptocurrency enthusiast. I love writing content and I understand and appreciate the power of cryptocurrency and Blockchain technology. So you can definitely imagine that Hive is the perfect home for me. I get to write content and earn cryptocurrency on a Blockchain. ❤️
As a blogger there's a lot of value I see on Hive. Some of these values include an active community, rewards from sharing content, a decentralized system, the lack of censorship, no presence of ads and curator rewards. There's even more value for bloggers on Hive but I'll only share a few thoughts on these few I just mentioned.
Ok Let's get into the topics shall we
An Active Community
As a blogger one thing I've realized is a huge advantage for beginner bloggers on Hive than on a regular traditional self owned website is the free access to an actlve community of real people that will give awesome feedbacks to your content based on the quality. Bloggers that own their own websites have the burden of thinking about how to get their blogs to reach people. Some bloggers with the funds to do it, pay to promote their blogs to be able to reach people to read. Here on Hive, it's very different. Hive is basically a Blockchain community. People are always active on the platform. Even if they don't see your post immediately, they'll see it very soon. I don't need to pay to have my blog reach people, Hive already had the people. 🥰 I only focus on the quality of my post and let Hive do the rest. I love Hive for that.
Author rewards
Another very important value of Hive to bloggers is the author rewards. We all know that blogging is no simple task. It takes effort, time and thinking to put together good content. This is why it's really necessary for bloggers to earn to support them to keep writing content. Since I joined Hive about a week ago, I have earned a decent amount of cryptocurrency (Hive tokens). My introductory post on Hive earned a pretty decent amount. I was very amazed and impressed with Hive. I had some comments from a few people that have become my friends now. Comparing Hive to traditional blogging websites, bloggers with their own websites will have to either put ads on their blog page or sell a product in order to make money. It's not necessary on Hive. 🥰 Thank God I don't have to add Google adsense to this amazing blog to be able to earn.
Decentralization
One very cool thing about Hive is the system of Decentralization. Unlike platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, Hive is very Decentralized.
This means that there's no single organization, individual or government that controls which content does well and which content does not. Facebook has algorithms built into the website that determines based on title, descriptions, hashtags and source of content, which post goes viral and which post gets buried. I believe this is not ideal for bloggers. Sometimes quality posts get buried. On Hive I only focus on the quality of my content and the people decide whether to upvote it or not. The power is with the people of the Hive community and not a single individual or organization.
• Lack of Censorship
One other thing that makes Hive so cool a platform for bloggers is the lack of censorship. Hive content cannot be influenced by the government or any individual of power to decide which content gets on and which gets taken down. On Facebook for instance, the government can influence the owners of the platform to take down certain content that may be true or fact but simply not what they like. That kind of concept buries the Truth. On Hive Blockchain, due to its lack of censorship, the truth can come out.
No Ads
Can you imagine that after all the cool benefits I'v mentioned above, Hive is also devoid of Ads. Like literally no ads on the platform. On Facebook and Instagram and even Twitter, you can stumble into distracting and annoying ads every now and then. This is a really cool advantage for Bloggers on Hive because we can trust that out readers will not be disturbed or distracted with ads. We get to create awesome blogs and earn money without having to implement google adsense in our blog pages. That's pretty cool for me. ❤️
Curator rewards
One other value that benefits the bloggers on Hive indirectly is the Curator rewards. The curation rewards is that, based on the Hive power of your voters, they can earn cryptocurrency when they upvote your post. That's pretty cool. The thought of the fact that those who upvote this very blog post of mine in a period of 7 days will actually earn a portion of the rewards makes me very happy. It makes me as a blogger feel like I'm actually working for myself and my readers as well.
