WOO - WWE's Treatment of Liv Morgan Raises Eyebrows
Hi guys,
So I just read something about WWE and I would like to comment on this. It is a fact that there was a wrestler called Liv Morgan who made an attack on Rhea Ripley backstage a few weeks ago.
She attacked Rhea in such a way that the latter got injured as a result and consequently had to relinquish her Women’s World Championship.
After that, this Monday, WWE organized a huge match which would determine the new champion of women’s wrestling and Becky Lynch eventually triumphed.
But here’s what bothers me. Vince Russo, who used to be one of the WWE writers has been vocal in the belief that Liv Morgan is being punished for hurting Rhea Ripley.
According to them, Liv Morgan was not scripted to win because she caused an injury to Rhea and so WWE management is still mad at her.
Of course, I’m no expert when it comes to WWE but punishing Liv Morgan for something that might have been accidental does not seem right.
Accidents are bound to happen within wrestling. It is indeed a tough game where players can get hurt even without intending it themselves.
Liv Morgan did not win because WWE is making a statement. They want to demonstrate their displeasure at what happened to Rhea Ripley. But is that equitable?
Liv Morgan is a wrestler; her job includes fighting. Sometimes fights get out of hand, but that doesn’t mean she should face lifelong punishment.
Becky Lynch winning the championship brings another dimension to this. Perhaps WWE was looking for someone that had been dependable to become champion after the Rhea situation.
Since Becky Lynch is one of the big household names in WWE, it makes sense that they will want her as the new champion.
What about Liv Morgan though? She has worked hard to be where she is and it isn’t right if she’s being penalized for one mistake. Isn’t wrestling all about giving people second chances? So why isn’t Liv getting one?
I am hoping WWE will backtrack and give Liv Morgan another chance. People generally err and so she shouldn’t have to suffer for long. She can gain back her dignity in an alternative match that could put her on the path of becoming a champion as well.
For sure, I will be glued to WWE screens to see what happens next. You never know perhaps Liv Morgan might receive another opportunity that would reveal her true character.
However, it appears to be a situation that has attracted massive attention even mine at large towards how WWE is handling Liv Morgan right now.
