Splinterlands' pack sales boom is unsurprising, given the blockchain-based game's rapid growth, which has seen it become the most played blockchain game on DappRadar since September 2021 in just a few months.
Splinterlands is poised to increase its number of unique active wallets (users) and website traffic beyond the previously baselined, 10 million weekly sessions, thanks to its growing popularity and gamified distribution mechanism, which combines the NFT world with the crypto-game environment and divides NFT cards according to their rarity and value.
All cards in Splinterlands can be purchased for "Credits." People can then exchange their "Credits" for DEC or SPS, the gaming ecosystem's fundamental native assets.
The pre-sale was based on a voucher system, with each pack costing USD 4 and including 1 voucher holding 4000 credits. Vouchers can be purchased at Hive Engine or obtained by collecting SPS from the daily airdrop. In Splinterlands, vouchers that will be used for future sales are thought to have more utility.
Using the airdrop technique has helped manage user excitement and the rush to buy packs, preventing early sell-outs.
At the start of the general sale, a new card was unveiled and airdropped to pack buyers for every 1 million packs sold. This allows users to continue participate in the remaining rare card airdrops. Each pack of "Chaos Legions" contains five cards, one of which is classified as "Rare" or even more precious. As part of the one million NFT packets sold celebration, active users will receive a brand new card.
Splinterlands is expected to see an increase in the number of unique users as a result of the gamified distribution system and increasing traction, which ties the crypto-game environment and NFT according to their value and rarity. It's very likely that the number of active users will surpass the previous 10 million weekly traffic peak.
