Do You Know Blackmoor Jinx?

Cover.gif
Blackmoor Jinx is one of those very cheap units that can surprise players when used correctly. At only one mana, it is easy to add this unit into almost any lineup without breaking your lineup. Many players overlook one mana units because they expect them to do very little but Blackmoor Jinx is different. It brings a good amount of damage and a useful ability for its cost. Even though it is very fragile compared to other 1 mana counterparts like Halfling Refugee, its low cost means losing it is not a big risk. Blackmoor Jinx may still be a filler overall but it can be good in right situations.

Stats

Rarity: LegendaryMana: 12 range damage
Armor: 0Health: 3Speed: 3
  • Blackmoor Jinx is best seen as a cheap damage dealer that exists to add damage early in the fight. With 2 ranged damage, at 1 mana, its damage to cost ratio is very good. The speed of 3 is decent and lets it act before other units kill him with Opportunity. Having 0 armor and only 3 health makes it very easy to kill but that is expected for a unit at this cost. Because it uses ranged attack, Blackmoor Jinx can sit safely in the backline and deal damage safely if you wanted to. This unit is not meant to survive long, it tries to do its job before it dies. For a 1 mana unit, that trade is usually worth it.

Abilities

snipe.pngSnipe: Tagets the frist enemy Unit with Rangd, Maic, or no attack that is not in the first position with Ranged or Magic attacks.
Snipe allows Blackmoor Jinx to ignore the front tank and target enemy backline units instead. This is very strong because it helps remove damage dealers and units with useful abilities like Tank Heal or other abilities that supports their team. These units normally hide behind tanks but not if our Blackmoor Jinx can snipe them. Even the small damage adds up over time, especially when it hits the same targets repeatedly. Since Blackmoor Jinx only costs 1 mana, any damage it deals before dying is already good value. Snipe also works well when multiple units focus the same type of target, making it a really good strategy. If you have multiple units with Snipe, I suggest prioritizing those. With multiple Snipe units, you can have a decent strategy to use against your enemies.

Why Blackmoor Jinx Should Be Picked

Blackmoor Jinx should be picked when you want cheap backline unit to fill your team. Blackmoor Jinx is not one that you pick first but pick last. It would be good, though, on modifiers that gives advantage to your team the more you have like Equalizer or Born Again. Modifiers like Equalizer are very good for Blackmoor Jinx because it fixes its biggest weakness, which is the low health. With Equalizer active, this unit becomes much harder to kill while still costing only 1 mana. In these situations, Blackmoor Jinx can be a priority pick despite the lack of stats and abilities.
