Splinterlands Newbie Strategy Help

I have been playing this game for around 2 weeks and have really enjoyed it just as a game. One thing that is hard is trying to actually earn DEC and go up in ranks without sinking too much money into the game itself. I understand the old adage that to make money you have to spend money, but I just can't poor a lot into the game at the moment.

This is my plan and if you had any tips to add I would appricate it. In order to not spend a lot of money I plan on renting cards for 2 reasons: My daily quests and the season end rewars. I think this will keep my initial investment down while getting a decent return. So far I have been able to get 2 cars. See below. I think this stratagy is going to take a lot of time to get anyware, and it is a bit basic. But it is at least sound. Would love to know your thoughts.
