A combination of defense and healing to survive the Explosive Weaponry rule

Hello everyone, welcome to another post about Splinterlands. This post will be about battle rules and this week's rule will be Explosive Weaponry, having a good strategy will be essential to win battles with this rule.

What is the Explosive Weaponry rule?

The Explosive Weaponry rule gives all monsters on the battlefield the Blast ability, this means that your monsters and your opponent's monsters will gain this ability.

The Blast ability deals additional damage to monsters adjacent to the target monster. The additional damage is equivalent to main damage/2 rounded up.

Abilities like Snipe and Scattershot will work well with the Blast ability as it will increase the chances of dealing damage to 2 targets depending on their main target.

There are several strategies to use in this type of rule, the 2 I like to use the most are having a strong defense with the Taunt ability and the Reflection Shield ability or focusing mainly on the attack to deal as much damage as possible and end the battle quickly.

The first strategy is the one I like to use the most but I always like to test new possibilities to improve my knowledge in Splinterlands and for the battle that I will demonstrate I will use a combination of damage and healing.

BATTLE

My strategy is very simple, I will use 4 monsters that will be Flesh Golem, Fungus Flinger, Kron the Undying and Wood Nymph. I will also use the summoner Mylor Crowling that will give the Thorns ability to all my monsters, but he will only be an additional one for this battle.

First I will explain the function of Fungus Flinger, it will be a card that I will sacrifice early in the battle but it will have a great use in doing so because it has the ability Martyr.

The Martyr ability was introduced when the new bounty cards (Soulbound) arrived in Splinterlands, when the monster with the Martyr ability dies it will increase the stats of the adjacent monsters by +1, that means the monsters adjacent to it will gain +1 attack, +1 speed +1 health and +1 shield (Only if they already had a shield before).

Fungus Flinger's position will be essential for me to increase the stats of as many monsters as possible and that's why in this battle I will position him between Flesh Golem and Kron the Undying.

Watch the Battle

When strong Fungus Flinger is defeated by Blast ability, Flesh Golem and Kron the Undying will gain +1 Attack, Speed and Health. After that happens I will have 2 even stronger monsters on the battlefield and now I will explain the second part of the strategy which will focus on healing.

Now that Flesh Golem and Kron the Undying are more powerful I have more attack power to cause even more damage to my opponent's monsters but that alone is not enough to win and therefore the abilities Heal and Tank Heal will be essential to I achieve victory.

Flesh Golem is defending in the first position and Kron the Undying in the second position and they both have the Heal ability so they will be able to recover part of their health every round, this means that the Blast ability will be useful for my opponent but it will not be easy to defeat my defense since they both have healing.

Finally, we have Wood Nymph which, in addition to causing damage, also has the Tank Heal ability, this ability will heal the monster positioned in the first position every round.

Since my strategy is focused on damage and healing all the pieces are now in place and the battle happened exactly as I imagined, I managed to deal a lot of damage to my opponent's monsters with the help of the Explosive Weaponry rule and my opponent had a hard time penetrating my defense, in the end after several rounds I managed to achieve victory.
