Conquering the skies in battle, meet Runic Skyclaw

The dragon deck is always a good option because in addition to having very powerful cards it can also be combined with another deck and that gives you a huge variety of cards and strategies to use. Recently Riftwatchers arrived in Splinterlands and brought with it amazing cards, some of them from the dragon deck.

In this post I'm going to talk about the Runic Skyclaw card from the Riftwatchers edition and I'm going to show you how you can get it and also why it's a good choice to have in your battles.

Who is Runic Skyclaw?

Runic Skyclaw as I said before is a card from the Riftwatchers edition that belongs to the dragon deck and it is a rare card from that edition and there are 2 ways to get it, through the marketplace in Splinterlands or by buying Riftwatchers packs to try your luck get it, but I'll leave to talk about that part shortly.

The most important thing in a Splinterlands card is to find out what it has to offer in battles and to find that out you will need to look at its Stats.

The image above will give you an overview of the cards, such as stats, level and abilities. To get this information is quite simple, you will only need to go to the Splinterlands Marketplace and filter the cards by: Edition - Riftwatchers / Rarity - Rare / Element - Dragon / Role - Monsters. After that you will find the Runic Skyclaw card and you will only need to click on it, then you will go to the Stats part and you will find the information in the image above.

Upon seeing the image, we noticed that Runic Skyclaw has a lot of information and I will explain each one of them so that you have no doubts about how it works in battles.

Starting with the basics, Runic Skyclaw is a ranged card so it is able to attack in all positions except the first, so if you have a ranged card avoid leaving it in the first position or close because when it arrives in this position it will be unable to attack.

Runic Skyclaw's attack is very powerful and it has an attack of 5 at its maximum level and that's a lot, so it's a very strong card offensively. In addition to her attack, she also stands out for her speed, which is also very high and will make her one of the first cards to attack in battle. Finally, we have her health, which is not very high but not low either, and she also has a shield that will be very useful against melee and ranged attacks.

In terms of the basics that would be attack, speed, health and shield, Runic Skyclaw doesn't have much to complain about because its stats are great. Its biggest drawback is its mana cost which is very high so it's the type of card you won't use in your low mana battles.

Now let's talk about its abilities, which are 4 in total: Flying, Snipe, Reflection Shield and Giant Killer. Each of them is unlocked at different levels and I'll explain better how they work so you don't have any doubts.

Enable Level 1 (Flying)

The ability Flying is available in Runic Skyclaw since level 1 so it will have this ability at all levels and its function is to increase by +25% the chances of dodging melee and ranged attacks from cards that do not have the ability Flying. As Runic Skyclaw's speed is very high and it has the ability Flying so you can be sure that it will not be an easy target for your opponent and if you place it in the last position then it will be a great defense against cards that have the ability Sneak.

Enable Level 2 (Snipe)

The ability Snipe is also available in Runic Skyclaw since level 1 and it will have the function of having ranged cards, with magic attack and without attack that are not in the first position as the main targets of Runic SKyclaw.

Enable Level 5 (Reflection Shield)

The ability Reflection Shield is unlocked at level 5 and its function will be to make Runic Skyclaw immune to damage caused by Blast, Magic Reflect, Return Fire and Thorns.

Enable Level 8 (Giant Killer)

The ability Giant Killer is unlocked at the maximum level of Runic Skyclaw and its function is to make it cause double damage against cards with 10 or more mana, if you already think that Runic Skyclaw's attack is strong then imagine it causing twice as much him in an attack.

Current Price

There are 3 ways to get the Runic Skyclaw in your battles, the first is to buy it from the marketplace, the second is to rent it from the marketplace and the third and last is to buy Riftwatchers packs and try your luck.

The first option is buying from the marketplace you will find other players selling Runic Skyclaw cards and it is currently possible to buy it for $0.66 per BCX.

The second option is renting it on the marketplace and the price varies a lot according to the level you want to have the Runic Skyclaw, but at level 1 you can rent it for 0.06 DEC, so it's very cheap.

The third option is to buy Riftwatchers packs and try your luck, each pack costs 5$ in SPS + 1 Voucher and in it you will get 5 random cards when you open it and you are guaranteed to get at least one rare card or higher in each pack and how Runic Skyclaw is a rare card so the chances of getting it are not low.

Remembering that you can also buy the packs at Hive-Engine where the value of the packs is negotiated for a lower price but you will not be eligible to participate in the airdrops of the edition if you buy it.

That was my post about the Runic Skyclaw card, if you want you can also look and participate in my daily giveaway that can be found on my blog. Bye!

LORE

Over time, the Riftwatchers have developed and refined a suit powered by pistons, gears, and dragon magic. A marvel of runic engineering, it allows its wearer to take flight and soar through the sky on mechanical, dragon-like wings. Using reinforced tubes, the user can release precision beams of fire from the palms of their hands. The suit’s sophisticated servos and actuators are extremely responsive to the natural movement of the body, providing extraordinary agility while in flight.

It takes years of training to become proficient in the use of these suits. Thankfully, runemancers have installed certain safeguards to reduce the mortality rate of trainees, such as crash avoidance, unconsciousness-activated auto-flight, and a projectile warning system.

A burning sensation lanced through its flank, and the Chaos Dragon roared and wheeled through the sky. It couldn’t turn fast enough to track its attacker, a gnat-like creature that darted through the sky around it. It looked like a little mechanical dragon.

A pinprick of pain and heat on its belly, and the Chaos Dragon swooped downward, but its claws found only empty air. A blast slammed into the side of its snout, and the Chaos Dragon’s eyes watered. It shook its head and roared again.

There. High above, a silhouette against the sun. The Chaos Dragon exhaled a breath of necrotic energy. The little gnat dove through the sky, narrowly avoiding the attack. It fired two fireballs at the dragon. More pain.

The Chaos Dragon snarled, pulled its wings in to its sides, and dove toward the ground. Just before impact, it extended its wings again and glided along, its shadow sweeping across the landscape as it retreated toward the horizon.

The Runic Skyclaw pumped her fist into the air. Below her, the Splinterlanders and Riftwatchers cheered.
