Ferocity, The Nightmare Taunt Ability

Hello everyone, welcome to another post about Splinterlands. This will be a post about battle rules and this week's rule will be Ferocity. You should think carefully before using monsters with the Taunt ability when this rule is active on the battlefield.

What is the Ferocity rule?

The Ferocity rule will grant the Fury ability to all monsters on the battlefield, this means that your monsters and your opponent's monsters will receive the Fury ability.

Monsters that have the Fury ability will do double damage against monsters that have the Taunt ability, so using monsters with the Taunt ability will give you a huge disadvantage in battle as they will take double damage.

Particularly I like to use monsters with the Taunt ability since they are very useful because they attract all the attacks of the opponent's monsters and when you combine them with other monsters that have healing abilities they become even more incredible in battles. But the Ferocity rule changes the battle a lot for monsters with the Taunt ability and that's why I avoid using them when this rule is active, as they would be easily defeated by the opponent's monsters.

Since I cannot use monsters with the Taunt ability then I will have to change my strategy and now I will demonstrate through a battle one of the strategies I use when the Ferocity rule is on the battlefield.

BATTLE

Watch the Battle

In this battle there is Ferocity rule so all monsters will gain Fury ability and there is also Fog of War rule so all monsters will lose Sneak ability and Snipe ability.

As there is Fog of War rule in battle so I will avoid using melee monsters as they will only be able to attack in 1st position and 2nd position (if they have Reach ability).

My strategy is to focus on a good defense in the first position since the monster positioned in it will receive all the attacks and that's why I choose Lord Arianthus, he is a monster without attack but that has a strong defense since he has the Void ability and the Shield ability, this means it will take half damage from melee, ranged, and magic attacks.

Now that I have a strong defense so I will focus on attack and support and for that I used monsters like Spirit Hoarder that has the Triange ability, this is a healing ability that won't be very useful when the Fog of War rule is in effect. battle but sometimes the opponent uses monsters with the Scattershot ability or the Blast ability so the Triange ability can be very useful against them. I also selected Crustacean King, it has the Tank Heal ability and it will be very useful to heal Lord Arianthus and make my defense even more difficult to break.

In the attack I selected monsters like Ruler of the Seas and Pirate Archer, both have the Blast ability so they will be very useful dealing additional damage to the monsters adjacent to their target. I also selected Xenith Archer, it's a ranged monster with no abilities but its mana cost is low so it's a good choice for when you have little mana left.

Now that my defense, my offense and my supports are ready, all that's left is to go to the battlefield and achieve victory.

The battle was easier than I expected, my opponent chose a dubious combination of cards and that made it easier for me to get the victory.
