Fog of War Rule on the Battlefield

Hello everyone, welcome to another post about Splinterlands. This will be a post about battle rules and this week's rule will be Fog of War. In this type of rule the melee monsters will be the most affected since they will be able to attack only in the first and second positions.

What is the Fog of War rule?

The Fog of War rule causes all monsters on the battlefield to lose their Sneak and Snipe abilities, this means that the targets of all monsters will be the opposing monster placed in the first position, the only exception being monsters that have Scattershot ability since this ability makes the monster attack a random target.

In this rule I really like to use monsters with magic attack since they can attack from any position and the water and land decks are great choices since they have excellent monsters with magic attack and also summoners like Alric Stormbringer and Obsidian, both will increase your monsters' magic attack.

There are also other great choices like the life deck with the summoner General Sloan which will increase the ranged attack of your monsters or the summoner Delwyn Dragonscale of the dragon deck which will increase the magic attack of your monsters. Particulately I like to use the water or land deck more, but there are several combinations in Splinterlands that can be better and it will also depend on my opponent's choice of cards.

To better demonstrate how the Fog of War rule works I will explain it through a battle.

BATTLE

In this battle I will use the water deck since the land deck is not available, but I would probably choose the water deck as it is my favorite for this type of rule.

My summoner will be Alric Stormbringer, he will increase the magic attack of my monsters by +1 and will be very useful in this battle since I selected some monsters with this type of attack.

Watch the Battle

To set up a good balance between defense and attack I selected monsters that will be of great help in battle, I will better explain the function of each one.

1 - In the first position I choose Lord Arianthus, he is a legendary monster that has no attack but has very useful defensive abilities such as Void, Shield and Magic Reflect.

2 - In the second position I choose the Spirit Hoarder, he is a legendary monster with a magic attack and has the abilities Triange and Dispel. The Triange ability won't be useful because of the Fog of War rule but if my opponent has a monster with the Scattershot ability then it will be very useful.

3 - In the third position I choose Ruler of the Seas, he is a legendary monster with magic attack and has the Blast ability, he will be my main damage in this battle.

4 - In the fourth position I choose Xenith Archer, he is a rare monster with ranged attack and he has no abilities.

5 - In the fifth position I choose Crustacean King, it is a common monster with ranged attack and has the Tank Heal ability.

6 - In sixth position I choose Pirate Archer, he is a rare monster with ranged attack and has the Blast ability.

I wish I had chosen more cards with magic attack in battle but I only had 24 mana available and the cards with magic attack in the water deck usually have a very high mana cost, but I still chose a great combination of cards since I have good defense, good offense and also healing abilities.

My opponent also chose the water deck but his choice was a little dubious for me as he chose several melee monsters and the summoner Possibilus the Wise. It's not a very bad choice but I certainly wouldn't pick these monsters for the Fog of War rule.

The battle wasn't difficult, my attacks were very effective and my opponent only had 1 monster attacking so after a few rounds I managed to defeat all his monsters and achieve victory.

Hi, I like "Lord Arianthus", it's an excellent tank. And I also like "Ruler of the Seas", its "blast" does a lot of collateral damage.👍👍👍
