Hello, in this post I will introduce one of my favorite combinations for battles in Splinterlands. Whenever we start a battle we look at the mana cost, the available decks and mainly the battle rules and then a simple question crosses our minds: which strategy will I use?

The answer to this question is very variable and will depend on what cards you have available and what kind of battle you are going to face. But to keep it simple I just thought combining strong defense and strong offense would work in most of your battles. My strategy is simple, I would only need a powerful tank card with the ability to taunt and several support cards to help my tank survive as much time as possible in the battle.

Tank cards with the ability taunt are not uncommon and there are a good amount of them to choose from, but I also need to think that my support cards probably won't take much damage and so choosing a tank card with a good amount of attack can be the best option and after searching all the decks I finally found a card that will serve my strategy very well.

Agor Longtail is his name and maybe you already know him but if you still don't then I'll make a brief summary of what this powerful card is capable of doing in battles.

The image above shows the card's stats and abilities. To use Agor Longtail in your battles you will first need to select a dragon type summoner and have 14 mana available. After using a dragon summoner and spending the required 14 mana, Agor Longtail will be ready to fight by your side in battles.

Because it is a legendary card it has 4 levels, each level will make it even stronger but remember that each league has its level limits.

Agor Longtail will be your tank card in battle and as you can see in his stats he will be an excellent tank since he has a large amount of life, shield and also speed that will help him to dodge attacks, in addition he also has a large amount of attack, basically he is an ideal card to attack and defend.

In addition to having a good attack and defense he also has great abilities that will help him become even more powerful. Its abilities are: Flying, Taunt, Void Armor and Heal.

Enable Level 1 (Flying)

The Flying ability will increase the chances of it dodging melee and ranged attacks by +25% against cards that do not have the ability Flying. For those who know this ability, they know that it is very useful and makes the card dodge several attacks during battle, so it is an excellent additional defense for Agor Longtail.

Enable Level 1 (Taunt)

The Taunt ability will make all the opponent's cards attack Agor Longtail, as he will be your tank so he will resist attacks well and also with the help of the supports that I will put in the battle, he will become even more difficult to to defeat.

Enable Level 1 (Void Armor)

The Void Armor ability makes Agor Longtail's shield able to block magic attacks, so to deal damage to Agor Longtail the opponent's cards will have to break his shield first.

Enable Level 3 (Heal)

The Heal ability will be of great help to Agor Longtail because it will restore 1/3 of his maximum health per round, for a tank card this is one of the best abilities he could want.

That was a brief summary of how the Agor Longtail works, but to better understand how it is and also how my strategy works I will show it in action on the battlefield.

6 cards in total (1 summoner and 5 monsters) but for my strategy to work it was only necessary 4 cards (Agor Longtail and the 3 supports which are Merdaali Guardian, Krustacean King and Scavo Hireling).

• The strategy is very simple to understand, Agor Longtail will work as the main card and the whole battle will depend only on it because my other cards have little attack and low life, so if Agor Longtail is defeated it will be game over for me.

• Merdaali Guardian and Krustacean King will restore lost health to Agor Longtail and Scavo Hireling and restore their shield, the rest will depend on Agor Longtail.

In the end the result came out exactly as I wanted and the Agor Longtail managed to survive with 100% of its health.
