Low mana and great utilities, meet Dax Paragon

Splinterlands has a wide variety of cards to play with and that means lots of combinations to try out. In this post I will talk about a card that I had never used in my battles but after knowing more about it I realized that it is very useful in several combinations, this card is Dax Paragon and it is about him that I will talk about in this post.

Who is Dax Paragon?

Dax Paragon is an epic card from the chaos legion edition that belongs to the life deck. To be able to have this card in your battles you need to have it and for that there are 3 options that are buying, renting or opening chaos legion packs.

In the first option, which is to buy the card, you can go to the Splinterlands marketplace and search for it by filtering the cards by Edition - Chaos Legion / Rarity - Epic / Deck - Life, then you will go to For Sale.

You will find several options of other players selling the card, so you will only need to select the card with the best price and pay the amount in DEC or Credit.

In the second option, which is to rent the card, you will follow the same steps as the first option and click on For Rent, several options will also appear and you just have to select the one you want and pay in DEC or Credit.

In the third option, which is buying Chaos Legion packs, it will depend on your luck, each open pack will give you 5 random cards, with at least 1 rare card or higher guaranteed.

Each pack will cost you 4000 DEC or 4000 Credits, as the DEC is below your ideal value so it pays more if you pay in DEC as you will receive a good discount on the packs. After you have your pack you will need to open it and be lucky enough to get the Dax Paragon.

You can also choose to buy the packs from Hive Engine for a lower price but you will not be eligible for chaos legion edition airdrops.

Stats and Abilities

Now that we know how to get Dax Paragon, I'll explain how it works in battles and for that we need to know its Stats and Abilities.

The image above shows an overview of the Dax Paragon card and as you can see it's one that isn't too difficult to understand and only has 2 abilities.

Dax Paragon's basic stats (Attack, Speed and Life) are not high but its mana cost is only 2 so in my opinion they are pretty good and its main highlight is its abilities.

Because it is an epic card, it has 6 levels and each level it gets even stronger, but as I mentioned before, its main highlight is its abilities, mainly Amplify, which I will explain now.

Enable Level 2 (Amplify)

The Amplify ability is unlocked from level 2 and its function will be to increase the damage caused by the abilities Return Fire, Magic Reflect and Thorns by 1. Remembering that it will only be useful if you have cards or rules that give you one or more of these 3 abilities. 1 damage might not seem like it makes much of a difference but it sure does and it could very well decide whether a battle will be won or not, so if you have a good strategy for the Dax Paragon it can be an amazing choice for battle. .

Enable Level 5 (Affliction)

The Affliction ability is unlocked at level 5 and its function is to cut the healing of the card that Dax Paragon attacks and this is also very useful because healing abilities are very problematic in battle and they can completely change the course of a battle, so cutting this cure will be very useful for your opponent's card to be defeated more easily.

It's only 2 abilities and low basic stats (attack, speed and health) but it's still an excellent choice for battles if you have a good strategy.

BATTLE

Now to leave the theory a little and show him in practice I will show Dax Paragon in one of my battles.

Watch the Battle

The battle had 29 mana available and the Little League rule that only allowed cards with a mana cost of 4 or less.

  • My strategy for Dax Paragon was to take full advantage of its ability Amplify but as the Little League rule existed so my options were limited and for that I had to use the summoner Ilthain so that my cards had the ability Return Fire and that it would mean that my opponent's ranged cards would be in big trouble as I would be able to deal a lot of damage to them with this combination.

  • In addition to Dax Paragon I also used other excellent cards that I consider great choices for the League Little rule, these cards are Pelacor Conjurer, Celestial Harpy, Time Mage, Venari Crystalsmith and Truthspeaker.

  • Each of these cards had an important role in the battle, Pelacor Conjurer would be my main defense and despite not having an attack it is very useful since it has great speed and the ability Flying so it dodges many attacks. Celestial Harpy has the ability Opportunity that makes it attack the opponent's card with the lowest life and this also helps a lot as it serves as a finishing blow to the opponent's cards. Time Mage has the ability Slow that reduces the speed of the opponent's cards and this is also very useful, mainly because Ilthain increases the speed of my cards so my cards will have more chances to attack first and Pelacor Conjurer will have an easier time dodging . Truthspeaker has the Protect ability and it will be one of the most useful in battle as it will grant +2 shield to my cards and that will make a big difference in battle. Lastly, we have Venari Crystalsmith with its healing ability that will also help Pelacor Conjurer a lot.

  • I had a great balance of attack and defense so my opponent had a lot of difficulty in battle, on the other hand my opponent also had great cards but had several ranged cards and this will be a big problem since I have Dax Paragon and Ilthain.

  • The battle started and it was as I imagined, my opponent's ranged cards lost their shields easily and my Pelacor Conjurer was defending very well and dodging some attacks. My opponent's defense was strong but not strong enough and as soon as his main defense was defeated he was very vulnerable and his cards were being defeated one after another.

  • I managed to achieve victory without losing any of my cards and that was all because I put together a good strategy and even though Dax Paragon was very useful with its ability Amplify, all cards played an important role in the battle so it was a victory not only of one card but of all of them.

That was my post about the Dax Paragon card, if you want you can also look and participate in my daily giveaway that can be found on my blog. Bye!

Under the "Little League" rule, the "Life" team has good monsters for battle.
"Time Mage" and "Dax Paragon" look good behind.
The summoner "Ilthain" increases the speed of the team and "Time Mage" reduces the speed of the opponent.
And "Dax Paragon" looks the other way because he knows that the battle is won with his "Amplify".👍👍👍
