Hello everyone, welcome to another post of mine about Splinterlands. Today I'm going to talk about the Zyriel card that was recently announced by the Splinterlands team, you can find more details about the announcement in the post Introducing Zyriel - The First Multi-Element Splinterlands Card!.

In this post I will explain what the card's uses will be on the battlefield and also give my opinion about it.

Who is Zyriel?

Zyriel is the first multi-element card from Splinterlands, it will belong to the life and death deck, so you will be able to use it by choosing a summoner from one of these decks, you will also be able to use it by choosing a dragon or neutral summoner, as long as the secondary deck is either the life deck or the death deck.

I loved this Splinterlands initiative because it increases the number of possible battle combinations and that already makes the game more fun, I believe this is just the beginning and I keep thinking that maybe the new edition (rebellion) will surprise us with some cards in this style.

How to get the Zyriel card?

Zyriel will be a promotional Legendary card and Splinterlands players will be able to acquire it through the store starting Tuesday, May 2nd, 2023 at 16:00 ET / 20:00 UTC. A total of 15000 cards (15000 BCX) will be available for sale and the sale will last 30 days or until the cards run out.

Each card will have a cost of 80000 DEC or Credits, as the price of DEC is currently below $0.001 so it will be more advantageous to buy it for DEC as its price will be less than $80 if purchased with Credits. Each player will also be able to use VOUCHERS tokens to get a discount of up to 50% on the purchase, each VOUCHER token will have a fixed value of $0.25.

The value of the VOUCHER token is currently $0.113 so getting the discount will be very advantageous as each VOUCHER token will save you $0.137.

For each purchase (1 BCX) players can use up to 160 VOUCHERS to get the discount so if we do a quick calculation the price of each Zyriel card purchased with 50% discount of voucher tokens will be 40000 DEC/Credits + 160 VOUCHERS, currently the price of the dec is $0.00838 and the Voucher is 0.113 so the total value per card is $51.60 (remembering that I am using the current values of the DEC and VOUCHER tokens, the prices are variable and can change at any time for more or less).

Each purchase (1 BCX) will have a 4% chance of becoming a Gold Foil version, so if the player acquires 25 Zyriel cards (in a single transaction) he will have a 100% chance of getting a Gold Foil version.

Splinterlands will also limit the draw to 25 cards per transaction so that everyone has a fair chance of getting the cards.

How will Zyriel act on the battlefield?

Zyriel is a ranged card so it will be able to attack in any position except the first position, its stats can be seen in the image below.

Its mana cost will be 7 and as you can see its attack is very high but on the other hand it has low speed and low health, so keep that in mind when setting up your battle strategy.

In addition to a powerful attack, she also has excellent abilities that will help her a lot in battles, her abilities are: Weapons Training, Life Leech, Divine Shield and Rust.

Enable Level 1 (Weapons Training)

Adjacent monsters gain half of this Monster's ATK if they don't have attacks themselves, this is a great way to increase your strengths as cards that don't have ATK will possess and help even more in battles.

Enable Level 1 (Life Leech)

The monster's health increases each time it deals damage to the health of an enemy monster in proportion to the damage done, there is no limit to this ability so it will be very useful in battles, it just needs time to make your monster even stronger , so try not to put cards with this ability too close to the frontline so that they can take full advantage of the ability before they need to defend themselves.

Enable Level 2 (Divine Shield)

The first time the Monster takes damage, it is ignored. This is an amazing defense to have and will definitely be very useful, but there is a weakness which is not being able to defend against poison, damage will be dealt but the effect of Divine Shield will not be lost.

Enable Level 3 (Rust)

Finally, we have the Rust ability that will reduce the opposing cards' shield by -2. This is a great debuff as the shield makes a huge difference in battles, so making your opponent lower their defenses will bring you one step closer to victory.

In my opinion Zyriel is a great card and has great abilities, I can't wait to use it in my battles.
