Splinterlands - The King of Fire Deck Battles

In this post I will present a card that I rarely see in battles, in fact I've never seen it and discovered it only recently but that must be because I'm still in the bronze league and this card is amazing and I don't know why more people don't use it because I can win battles alone using only her and that is something incredible. This card is the Grum Flameblade from the fire deck and it has an ability I've never seen before but that's what makes it an amazing card.

Before knowing this incredible ability let's know more about the Grum Flameblade.

Edition: Chaos Legion.
Rarity: Legendary.
Deck: Fire.
Attack type: Melee.
Abilities: Bloodlust, Void Armor, Void, Giant Killer.
Mana Cost: 11.

imag 2.png

Because it's a legendary card it has 4 levels and with each level it gets even stronger, but I'm currently using it only at level 1 because I'm in the bronze league and even though it's just its initial level I already consider it an amazing card, I think the best I've played so far.

Its abilities as mentioned before are 4: Bloodlust, Void Armor, Void and Giant Killer. I will talk a little more about how they work.

imag 3.png

The first is Bloodlust and this ability is the most amazing on him because with it he is able to increase his stats by +1 when he defeats a card, so let's use him as an example at level 1 where he has 4 attack, 1 speed, 10 health and 5 health. Every time a card is defeated by Grum Flameblade these stats will increase by +1 so if it defeats a card it will have 5 attack, 2 speed, 11 health and 6 shield and something that I find very interesting and powerful is that even if he loses all the shield he has he will still gain +1 when he defeats a card and this is great because the shield is very useful in battles, especially if the card has Void Armor which is his next ability.

imag 4.png

The second ability is the Void Armor I mentioned before and it makes the Grum Flameblade's shield useful against magic attacks, better explained it works as follows:

Magic attacks ignore the shield of cards and directly attack the health of the cards but the Void Armor ability makes the attack of these cards attack the shield first and not the life, so the shield of the Grum Flameblade will be useful for all types of attacks, be they melee, ranged or magic.

imag 6.png

The third ability is the Void which reduces the damage taken by magic attacks, so the Grum Flameblade will be a great card against magic attacks because it will receive their damage reduced by half, explaining in a better way it works as follows:

The Void ability reduces the damage received from magic attacks by half so if a card that has 2 magic attack attacks the Grum Flameblade it will only do 1 damage, but if the card has 3 magic attack then it will do 2 damage because this value is rounded up.

imag 7.png

The fourth ability is the Giant Killer and it makes the Grum Flameblade do double damage against cards that have 10 mana cost or more, this ability is not usually very useful these days because there are few cards with that mana cost in Splinterlands but you can be sure that if your opponent uses cards like that then the Grum Flameblade will be even more amazing in battles.

This is a general explanation of how the Grum Flameblade card works but for the battle that I will show for this challenge I only used it at level 1 as I mentioned before so it has 2 abilities which are Bloodlust and Void Armor.

I also wanted to show the maximum potential of this card so I only used it in the battle and it faced 6 cards from my opponent alone. The mana available in the battle was 19 and I only used 15 which was 11 from the Grum Flameblade and 4 from the summoner.

The summoner chosen was Tarsa which will be a great combination with the Grum Flameblade as it increases the melee attack by +1 and also the card's health by +1.

The Grum Flameblade was the only monster card used in the battle as I mentioned before and you will see how amazing it alone is.

BATTLE

imag 8.png

This battle took place in the bronze league and the deck used by me was the fire deck with the summoner Tarsa, the deck used by my opponent was the earth deck with the summoner Obsidian.

As my opponent chose the Obsidian Summoner which increases the magic attack of his cards by 1, it is usually a problem for a card that has a shield as this type of card ignores the shield and attacks the life directly but this will not be a problem for the opponent. Grum Flameblade because he has the Void Armor ability.

This is a 1-vs-6 battle and there is no set rule.

Round 1:

In the first round my Grum Flameblade only received damage and couldn't defeat any cards but he still has a lot of life and only 4 of the 6 cards my opponent has on the field are able to damage him at this moment.

imag 9.png

Round 2:

In the second round again he takes a lot of damage but this time he is able to defeat a card and his Blodlust ability is activated making him gain +1 to all his stats and get 6 attack, 2 speed, 6 health and 1 shield, now only 3 of my opponent's 5 cards are able to damage him.

imag 10.png

Round 3:

In the third round he takes less damage than he used to and is also able to defeat another card causing the Bloodlust ability to activate again and now he has 7 attack, 3 speed, 7 health and 1 shield.

imag 11.png

Round 4:

In the fourth round the Bloodlust ability is activated again because he defeats another card and he has 8 attack, 4 speed, 6 health and 1 shield.

imag 12.png

Round 5:

In the fifth round again he defeats another card and the Bloodlust is activated making him have 9 attack, 5 speed, 4 health and 1 shield.

imag 13.png

Round 6:

In the sixth round the Bloodlust ability is activated again and he has 10 attack, 6 speed, 3 health and 1 shield, now there is only one card left for him to defeat and win the battle, the next round can be the decisive one .

imag 14.png

Round 7:

In the seventh round he starts to have a lot of speed the card he faces is Regal Peryton who usually dodges many attacks because of his Flying ability but she wasn't able to dodge this time and Grum Flameblade comes out victorious.

He ends the battle with 11 attack, 7 speed, 4 health and 2 shield and I never imagined that I would see a card with 11 attack, I think with so much attack there are few cards that would survive against him.

imag 16.png

Despite being a battle where I was at an extremely high numerical disadvantage, Grum Flameblade was able to show how amazing he is because he managed to beat all my opponent's cards one by one and I ended up not using all available mana, so if you still haven't used this amazing card in your battles I recommend using it because it is extremely powerful and so far it has won me many victories.

To finish my daily quest it was with the fire deck and with the help of Grum Flameblade I managed to finish it very quickly.

imag 17.png

The result was 1 Alchemist Potion.

imag 18.png

It was not this time that I get a card but soon I will have another quest and who knows I may not get a card.

Follow the incredible story of Grum Flameblade

Grum is known throughout his tribe as the strongest warrior. Born in the Sands of Draykh-Nahka, his hard upbringing made him a survivor. There was no weather too extreme, no drought too long, and no enemy too cunning for Grum. He became well-respected within the region for his battle prowess and defended his tribe countless times against the creatures of the wastes. Tales were sung around the fires of Grum's battle with the Great Wyrm of the Sands, the Earth-Shaking Titan, and Velissa the Sorceress. Grum's tribe, known as the Desert Blood, honored tradition, strength, and courage. He grew to become a legend amongst his people.

One day, he felt the spirits of his ancestors calling to him. Going on a solitary journey into the wasteland, he connected with an ancient past. A ruin lay deep underneath the desert that housed powerful mana. That connection imbued him with magic, and he became able to summon fire on his great sword, making him more formidable than ever before.

Grum could have taken this gift and used it to defend his tribe, but instead, he became arrogant. Who could defeat a warrior with a blade of fire? He began traveling, seeking out any foe that pleased him and doing as he chose. Even in the often dangerous draconic lands of Draykh-Nahka, there were few who would cross Grum.

His path took him across the Chaos Legion. Grum battled their warriors, but found he could not overcome their collective might. Their magic, their tactics, and their motivations were strange to Grum. It was something he'd never come across before. Rather than surrender, Grum was impressed. He chose to join the Chaos Legion and use their might to find new foes to face.

Grum now serves in the front lines of battle for the Chaos Legion. While he is a leader of the fiercest warriors, Grum fights right alongside even the newest soldier. He prefers to be the first to break the lines of the enemy and bring their heads back as his trophies. His ferocity and burning blade earned him the name Grum Flameblade across the land.
The Battle Mage arena had never seen this much bloodshed and death. Typically, fights were only between illusions, and no one was in any danger of being harmed. Things had changed when the Chaos Legion arrived. Grum saw to that. The Flameblade from Draykh-Nahka saw the arena as competition for new potential recruits, only now there would be no illusory magic as a defense. Blood stained the ground crimson and headless bodies lay stacked in piles, waiting to be burned.

Grum's deep gravelly voice bellowed throughout the packed stadium. People of all walks of life filled the seats, and not one cheered or clapped. “Do you not see how you failed to protect your land? Warriors are molded on the battlefield. Hardened by the steel they carry. They are not false magicians who fight for your entertainment. Battles are won by soldiers. Victory is earned through pain and sacrifice.”

A body lay at his feet. Its head rolled to a stop inches from where it was severed from the neck. Blood dripped from a massive greatsword held in Grum's left hand. As he stood over the body, in the center of the arena grounds, the sound of metal grinding on metal echoed throughout the stands. Grum glanced behind him to see two robed Chaos Legion members dragging the figure of a person towards him. He grinned a toothy smile and gripped his sword tighter.

“I stand before you a teacher of the arts. A master swordsmith and creator of war. If it is entertainment you want, I will happily oblige.”

The body of a man was brought before Grum and set before him. Grum reached down with his free hand and grabbed the man by his mane of sweaty, white hair. It stuck to the man's face as Grum lifted him off of the ground, dirt falling from the man's ragged clothes. He let out a stifled moan and gasp as he locked his green eyes with the towering orc that was Grum. Grum's smile twisted, and he let out a short laugh.

Grum's deep voice echoed throughout the arena again. “This man claims to be a warrior. He says he is practiced with blade and shield. Another disappointment I'm sure, but let's see if he has what it takes.”

Grum tossed the man a few feet in front of him, and he landed with a thud. Dust billowed around him as he scrambled to his feet. A blunt sword and shield were tossed at his feet, and he plucked them from the ground quickly. He struggled to buckle the shield on his arm as Grum spoke again.

“I give him the same chance I gave everyone else you see piled around this arena. If he so much as scratches me with his blade, I will concede. Begin!”

Powered by fear, the man rushed the orc and brought his sword low, aiming for Grum's thigh. Grum parried the blade with his sword and stood firm. The man tried for an overhead swing and connected with Grum's shoulder. The blade struck clean but did not cut through the sturdy flesh. A wry smile flashed across Grum's face.

Grum raised his greatsword above his head and shouted. “Draykh un Fliera!”

In an instant, a rush of flames whirled around his sword. It reflected on the shield and in the green eyes of his opponent. Grum hit the man in the stomach with the hilt of his sword before he brought it around in a large sweeping arc over his head for a second attack. The last thing the man saw was a fiery greatsword being swung at his face.

A head with white sweaty hair hit the ground and rolled near Grum's foot. He placed his foot on top of it and bellowed out a war cry. It was yet another trophy to add to his collection.
