Testing a new strategy for the Equalizer rule

Hello everyone, welcome to another post about Splinterlands. This will be a post about battle rules and this week's rule will be the Equalizer, you won't need to worry too much about the amount of life of the cards you will choose when this rule is active on the battlefield.

What is the Equalizer rule?

The Equalizer rule makes the starting life of all monsters equal to the monster with the highest life on the battlefield, this means that the life of the monster (either yours or your opponent's) with the highest life will be the starting life of all the monsters.

This rule can be a big advantage or a big disadvantage depending on the cards you use, as health is not an issue so your focus will be on the attack, speed and abilities of the cards. Particularly when there is this rule I like to focus on the attack as it is essential to defeat my opponent's cards as quickly as possible so that I can get more advantage in battle.

There are several strategies to use and that's what I like about Splinterlands, always trying new combinations to make battles even more exciting.

BATTLE

Watch the Battle

In this battle I tried to try a new strategy and as I had a lot of mana available I didn't skimp on the cards I could use and the result I got was not only very satisfying but also very fun to watch.

To better understand how my strategy worked I will explain it by parts.

  • My first defense is Serpent of Eld, he is a monster with a great amount of attack and speed, in addition he also has the Dodge ability that increases his chances of dodging melee and ranged attacks by +25%.

I chose Serpent of Eld because I consider this card extremely useful in battles, especially when your opponent doesn't have cards with a magic attack since this type of attack always hits the target and Serpent of Eld doesn't have much life, but now that Equalizer is active on the battlefield I don't have to worry too much about his life.

  • In the second and third position we have the Flying Squid and the Gargoya Devil, they will serve as a defense if the Serpent of Eld is defeated.

The Flying Squid doesn't have anything very special at the level I used it so it will just be a simple card that will attack and defend.

Gargoya Devil will also serve to attack and defend, but it has the Flying ability that will increase the chances of it dodging melee and ranged attacks by +25% against cards that do not have the Flying ability.

  • In fourth position we have Deeplurker.

Deeplurker will be one of my main attack cards, since its attack is very high and it has the Opportunity ability that will make it attack my opponent's card with less health.

As there is the Equalizer rule on the battlefield so the ability Opportunity will not be of great help since all cards have the same amount of life at the beginning, but Deeplurker will still be very useful because it will always try to deliver the final blow on the card The one with the least life, in this case it will be the card that received the most damage from my other cards.

  • In the fifth position we have the Spirit Hoader.

Spirit Hoarder will be my support in the battle since he has the Triage ability, with this ability he will be able to heal the backline card that received the most damage.

  • In the sixth and last position we have the Phantom of the Abyss.

The Phantom of the Abyss in addition to having a high attack and high speed it also has the Dodge ability, as well as the Serpent of Eld.

The reason I chose the Phantom of the Abyss and placed him in this position is so that he can serve as a defense against attacks that come from the backline, you can be sure that he will be very useful dodging attacks and with the help of the Spirit of Hoarder he will not be defeated easily.

For me this battle was really fun and I will definitely use this combination of cards again if I have the opportunity as it was very effective.

The battle wasn't easy but in the end I managed to achieve victory without losing too many cards.
