The Power of Mylor Crowling against Melee cards

Hello everyone, welcome to another post about Splinterlands. In this post I will talk about one of my favorite cards in the game, this card is Mylor Crowling and besides having a beautiful art he is also incredibly powerful in battles.

Who is Mylor Crowling?

Mylor Crowling is a rare summoner from the earth deck with 3 mana, he belongs to the Dice edition so you can use him in Wild Battles and Modern Battles. Its role will only be 1, it will grant the Thorns ability to all your cards on the battlefield and it will be incredibly useful against melee cards.

Thorns

The Thorns ability is very simple to understand, it will do 2 damage whenever a melee card attacks, this means that when an opponent's melee card attacks one of your cards that have the ability Melee, your opponent's card will suffer 2 damage after the attack.

Remembering that the same effect happens if your melee card attacks an opponent's card that has Thorns ability, in this case your card will suffer 2 damage after the attack.

Summoner Mylor Crowling will grant the Thorns ability to all your cards so every melee attack your opponent does on you will activate the Thorns ability and the opponent's melee card will take 2 damage after the attack.

The Thorns ability only works against melee cards, cards with magic and ranged attacks will not take damage from it.

I always like to have Mylor Crowling at my disposal in battles because I know that at some point he will be very useful, especially when there is the UP CLOSE & PERSONAL rule.

In the UP CLOSE & PERSONAL rule, only melee cards are allowed in the battle, this means that every opponent's attack will activate the Thorns ability and the cards will receive 2 damage after the attack, in this rule Thorns is incredibly powerful and its chances of victory will be very high.

As I said before Mylow Crowling not only has a beautiful art but also an incredible usefulness and to better show how powerful he is I will do a small demonstration through a battle, but first remember that because he is a summoner he has level restrictions, I will leave the table below.

BATTLE 1

In battles it is very common for the opponent to have melee cards so most of the time having the Thorns ability will be of great help, but do not forget that having a good strategy is also very important and always take a look at the cards that your opponent usually uses before to give you a quick idea if Mylor Crowling will be the right choice for the battle.

In this example, in addition to the summoner Mylor Crowling, I also used a strategy that I really like, it strengthens my frontline and backline well, making it an incredible defense against my opponent's attacks.

In addition, there is also the Super Sneak rule that gives the Sneak ability to all cards and this is one more reason why I want to use Mylor Crowling in battle since a lot of melee cards are usually used in this rule.

Just as I thought, my opponent used several melee cards in the battle and having the Thorns ability on all my cards made it much easier for me to achieve victory.

BATTLE 2

In this other example I use another combination that I really like, which is Failed Summoner and Kron the Undying, so I have one more advantage which is the Magic Reflect of Failed Summoner and the powerful Kron the Undying with its Heal ability.

With Mylor Crowling and Failed Summoner now I have a counterattack for melee and magic cards, a simple strategy with few cards but that gives me a lot of victories.

I hope you enjoyed my strategies and also how Mylor Crowling is an excellent option to have in your battles.
