Spinvest-leo weekly update post - 16 dec 2023

Welcome to this weeks update from the @spinvest-leo account. This wallet manages a small portion of the overall @spinvest fund, and sends HIVE back to @spinvest each week to contribute to the pool of funds for dividends. This wallet is managed by @jk6276. The main focus of this account is to generate yield to contribute to the weekly dividends for holders of SPI tokens. 50% of the income generated each week is sent to @spinvest to contribute to the weekly dividend. Primary holdings are positions in SPS liquidity pools, other BeeSwap pools, along with some Hive engine based investments.

Position changes this week:

Not much change this week. After a stellar week last week, where we gained almost 20% in value for the week, this week sees us slip back a touch. Not much, and probably to be expected given last weeks jump. Mainly, HIVE dropped a few cents from where it was for last weeks report. I think I shifted a little more out of the SPS/HIVE pool and into the ZING/HIVE pool this week.

Planning to make a more significant change after this report, which I'll outline below.

Current holdings:

  • SPS/BNB pool - $1278 - up $19

  • SPS/HIVE pool - $739 - down $64

  • SPS/ETH pool - $1461 - down $24

  • SIM/HIVE pool - $532 - down $31

  • BXT/HIVE pool - $592 - down $75

  • ZING/HIVE pool - $122 - up $26

  • Staked BXT - $280 - down $63

  • Staked LEO - $10 - up $2

  • HIVE Power - $315 - down $25

  • Miscellaneous - $72 - down $3
    (vexPOLYCUB, liquid ETH & BNB)

Asset exposure

Using the above values, and splitting pool positions into their components, we can calculate the total exposure to each asset for this wallet.

  • SPS - $1739 - 32.20%

  • BNB - $646 - 11.96%

  • ETH - $767 - 14.19%

  • HIVE - $1308 - 24.21%

  • SIM - $266 - 4.93%

  • BXT - $576 - 10.66%

  • ZING - $61 - 1.13%

  • LEO - $10 - 0.19%

  • vexPOLYCUB - $29 - 0.54%

Commentary:

BXT took a bit of a hit this week. Not sure why, it is in pretty good shape fundamentally at the moment. The convert function has been stable with decent liquidity in both directions for a little while now, and it is generating a real yield of over 20%, and has been steadily for a bit now.

As mentioned above, I am planning to change things up a little after I drop this report. I plan to remove all liquidity from the BXT/HIVE pool. The BXT will then be staked, more than doubling our staked BXT and locking in a solid yield, paid in liquid HIVE from real earnings. With the HIVE portion of the pool, I intend to add it in to boost significantly the ZING/HIVE position. This will give a boost to income, and also give me more funds each day to compound, positioning us well. ZING is probably going to drift lower, but as excitment builds leading in to the launch, it's price could hold up decently. The LP is definitely the highest yield play for ZING (as it should be given the impermeant loss risk)

My main goal with this wallet is maximum income. Growth is nice, but SSUK looks after the growth side of @spinvest with the main wallet. This little portion of the pie can chase max yield, and contribute funds towards the dividend pot. Since I swapped from sending an unsustainable 100 HIVE per week to that cause, to sending roughly 50% of the income each week, the amount sent has grown significantly, and should continue to do so. That is the motivation behind boosting the ZING pool, it's one of the highest yield plays on HIVE at the moment.

Totals and conclusion:

  • Total asset value last week: $5629

  • Total asset value this week: $5401

  • Weekly gain/loss: down $238

  • Total income generated - 96.806 HIVE (up 4.252 on last week

48.403 HIVE sent to @spinvest for weekly dividends. This is up 2.126 from last week.
