Hello everyone, Lester here! It's time again for Splinterlands Share Your Battle Weekly Challenge! How's your recent rewards from Focus Chests? Good? Bad? Meh? While you're not sure yet on what is your next strategy, check out my entry to SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! ANTOID PLATOON.

For this post, let's review one of the Fire Element Cards from Chaos Legion - Antoid Platoon. I will be also sharing some of my battles using this card. Before going through the details, let check first this card's stat and lore.

Antoid Platoon

Edition: CHAOS LEGION
Rarity: COMMON
Element: FIRE
Attack: MELEE
Abilities: SHIELD, SCAVENGER

An Antoid Platoon typically consists of five to seven Fire Ants, each approximately the size of a man's fist. They are well armored and wield shields and spears that, while tiny, provide a formidable defense and offense against the antoid's foes. Operating through a shared hive mind, the Antoid Platoon is employed to defend Ant Miners, other workers, the colony, and its queen. They are also known to become aggressive when invaders encroach upon their homes and surrounding territory..... (Antoid Platoon Lore)

Antoid Platoon Card Review

Don't be fooled by these cute little creatures. This card is very handy in low mana cap battles and proved to be the key in winning battles. Its Shield ability makes this card a very useful tank, thought its Melee Attack and Speed are only 1. It also has 2 Armor and 3 HP at Level 1.

I normally use this card for situations wherein I want to focus spending my mana to cards with higher Attack power. For example, if I am using Yodin Zaku, I need Ranged cards to maximize its effect, and then I will use a low mana cap monster to act as tank that will protect my attackers, even for a few rounds only.

How about the Rulesets? For me these are the Rulesets that are most compatible with Antoid Platoon.

Little League: Only Monsters & Summoners that cost 4 Mana or less may be used in battles. Antoid Platoon costs 4 Mana only and perfect for this ruleset.
Reverse Speed. Monsters with the lowest Speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks. Since Antoid Platoon costs 1 Mana only, it has the best chance to evade melee and ranged attacks.
On top of these Rulesets, it is best to use Antoid Platoon in low mana cap battles. Or pair it with a monster card that reduces melee/ranged attack damage. That way, if the opponent has 1 melee/ranged attack only, it will not inflict damage to Antoid Platoon.

Battle Challenge Line Up

Here is the line-up I used in this battle challenge. In this battle, the rulesets are Noxious Fumes and Little league. The mana cap is 52 and I am currently doing my Focus Element which is Fire, so that's why I tried this line-up. Antoid Platoon costs 4 mana only and I use it as my Pos 1 card. The reason why I put this card in Pos 1 is to protect my other cards, Xenith Monk and Cerberus that has Heal ability from taking any further damage from the opponent. Since all monsters are poisoned because of Noxious Fumes, I would like these cards to focus on healing themselves to sustain their HP and offset the damage from poison. I also used Goblin Shaman to reduce the HP of opponent monsters and let the poison do the rest. My back line attackers here is Kobold Miner and I have one Ranged Attack monster which is Scavo Firebolt to add more damage to the opponent.

Because of Antoid Platoon's Shield ability, Spineback Turtle and Crustacean King are not dealing any damage to it and managed to do its role, which is to protect Xenith Monk and Cerberus. Only at Round 3 that my Antoid Platoon died due to poison and served well in this battle.

Did your strategy work?

Yes, my strategy worked and I won the battle. My strategy is for Antoid Platoon to defend Xenith Monk and Cerberus from taking more damage from the opponent. This way, while the opponent is suffering from poison, I still have my Xenith Monk and Cerberus fully recovered for battle.

What will you try differently next time?

Given the same ruleset and mana cap, I will try to use Scavo Chemist to remove poison from Antoid Platoon and I think it will survive until the end if I added that card in this line up.

Currently, the price of Regular Foil Antoid Platoon is 0.042 USD and Gold Foil is 0.784 USD which are I think quite cheap right now. Here are the graphs from https://peakmonsters.com/market.
