Lava Spider

Let's take a run down first of this card's lore and stats.

LAVA SPIDER
Edition: CHAOS LEGION
Rarity: COMMON
Element: FIRE
Attack: RANGE
Abilities: Snipe

LORE
Few explorers dare to go deep within the volcanoes of the world. Tales are told of great spiders that weave threads of fire and trap their enemies in webs of flame. An inescapable and painful death.

When the Chaos Legion entered the Splinterlands through the great volcano in the center of Praetoria, they saw the lava spiders and used them to their advantage. Transporting these spiders into areas that need defense is a win-win for both groups. For the Chaos Legion, it is an easy barrier to ward off unwanted visitors. And for the lava spiders, they get free meals from the curious, the foolish, and the unwary adventurers that seek to strike at the Chaos Legion.
The dwarven warrior crept his way towards a long stretch of stone corridor. It had taken him months to find this secret entrance within the dense jungle. A hideout for supporters of the Chaos Legion. He intended to destroy them all and make safe the area once again.

He made his way silently into the corridor, gripping his dagger tightly. But as he trekked further into the darkness, he felt the heat increase. A heavy frown crossed his features. That wasn't right. Why was it getting so hot?

He turned a corner and stifled an alarmed cry. Crisscrossing the corridor were strands of spiderwebs that glowed red hot. He brought his dagger up, but it was too late. A searing pain stabbed into his back.

He was unconscious by the time the burning web was wrapped around him.

Line Up

Summoner: Yodin Zaku
Ability: All friendly Ranged Attack monsters have +1 Ranged Attack, All friendly Monsters have +1 Health, All friendly Monsters receive the Blast ability at the start of the battle.

Yodin Zaku is a great summoner for Range monsters because of its +1 Range Attack buff, especially on Range monsters with Snipe ability. Lava Spider's Snipe ability combined with Blast ability will surely deal a good amount of damage to the enemy line up.
Pos 1/Tank: Antoid Platoon
Ability: Shield - Reduced damage from Melee and Ranged attacks.

My tank here is the Antoid Platoon with its 4-mana cost. I basically used this card because of its low mana cost and Shield ablity. I want to spend less in my tank and spend more mana on my Snipers. Even though it only has 4 HP, it has 2 Armor that can prevent a 1-Hit KO from Melee and Range Attacks.
Pos 2: Lava Spider
Ability: Snipe - Targets enemy Monsters with Ranged, Magic, or no attack that are not in the first position.

The featured card will be placed in Pos 2 so that it can hide from monsters with Sneak ability. Also, it has a good amount of HP plus Yodin Zaku's +1 HP so in case my Pos 1 die, it can still tank the damage from the enemies while my other attackers are doing their job. Also, its Snipe ability has a great synergy with Yodin Zaku's Blast ability buff that can deal a sweet amount of damage to the enemy.
Pos 3: Fire Beetle
Ability: Snipe - Targets enemy Monsters with Ranged, Magic, or no attack that are not in the first position.

My Pos 3 monster is also a ranged monster to benefit from Yodin Zaku's ability. Fire Beetle also has the Snipe ability that will benefit from Yodin Zaku's Blast ability.
Pos 4: Ferexia General
Ability: Snipe - Targets enemy Monsters with Ranged, Magic, or no attack that are not in the first position.

My Pos 4 monster is also a ranged monster to benefit from Yodin Zaku's ability. Ferexia General also has the Snipe ability that will benefit from Yodin Zaku's Blast ability.
Pos 5: Creeping Ooze
Ability: Slow - Reduces the speed of all enemy monsters.

The enemy's previous battles used Plado Emberstorm and based from my experience, it can defeat Yodin Zaku. So I thought I will use Creeping Ooze to negate Plado Emberstorm's +1 Speed buff.
Pos 6: Furious Chicken
Ability: None

The main purpose of this card is tank all damage coming from the back. It will also attract monsters with Snipe ability. So in case the enemy use Yodin Zaku, I can minimize the damage by putting Furious Chicken at the back.

Let's Battle!

Let's discuss the battle to see areas that I should improve or what worked well.

The Ruleset is Healed Out and the Mana Cap is 23. And so as I guessed, the enemy used Plado Emberstorm. My attackers might miss but thankfully, I used Creeping Ooze to counter the enemy's +1 Speed.

The battle started with the first attack coming from my side.

My Ferexia General annihilated the enemy's Furious Chicken and the Blast ability damaged the enemy's Tenyii Striker and Scorch Fiend.

Lava Spider attacked the enemy's Chain Golem and because of Chain Golem's Shield ability it received 1 damage only. But due to Blasts ability, Lava Spider's attack also damaged the enemy's Kobold Miner.

The enemy's Tenyii Stiker attacked my Furious Chicken which was the purpose of putting Furios Chicken at the back.

Round 2 started with my attackers still intact.

My attackers Blast ability continued and killed Uraeus and Tenyii Striker.

Round 3 started with just the Chain Golem on the enemy side. And my attackers was able to annihilated it, leading me to victory.

Battle Recap

Battling in Bronze Leaderboard surely is a cool experience and adding a Level 3 Lava Sniper to your deck is a good decision and might put you on the top 20 list.

The release of Chaos Legion's Lava Sniper add more fire power to Fire element especially when you are a Yodin Zaku user.

It has a good amount of Speed and HP and have 2 more cool abilities upon reaching Level 10. At level 10, it will have Snipe ability which targets enemy Monsters with Ranged, Magic, or no attack that are not in the first position, Snare which when attacking enemies with Flying, removes the Flying ability and cannot miss and Poison which Attacks have a chance to apply poison, which does automatic damage to the target at the beginning of each round after the poison is applied.
