Hello Splinterfolks! It's time again for Splinterlands Share Your Battle Weekly Challenge!
How's your recent battles? Good? Bad? Meh?
While you're not sure yet on what is your next strategy, check out the latest weekly challenge of Splinterlands here - SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! RADIATED BRUTE.

RADIATED BRUTE

Radiated Brutes are the poor victims of the blight in Praetoria. With their strong will to survive, they became the so-called monsters and treated as animals by people of Praetoria.

Let's take a run down first of this card's lore and stats.

Edition: CHAOS LEGION
Rarity: COMMON
Element: FIRE
Attack: MELEE
Abilities: Reach

The spreading blight on the continent of Praetoria twisted both the land and its people.

Plants and animals were the first to become corrupted. Fungus sprouted from vegetation and gave them sentience. Animals grew extra limbs, heads, and grew to extraordinary sizes.

Then the people fell ill. Some thought it was from the plague brought about by Doctor Blight. Others thought perhaps it was from the poisonous gases that seeped from the fissures near the volcano.

Whatever it was, those who survived the sickness were changed. They mutated, grew stronger, and were filled with an uncontrollable rage. Some were unable to control that rage and went on murderous rampages. Others fought to maintain their sanity long enough to protect their family, friends, and neighbors from themselves. They fled into the Jade Thicket, where they became as feral as the wild animals of the continent.

The people of Praetoria referred to them as Radiated Brutes.
Jax no longer cared for cooked meat or clean water. He preferred his meals to be raw and wriggling.

Line Up

Here is the line-up I used in this battle challenge. In this battle, the ruleset is Silenced Summoners, wherein Summoners do not give any stat buffs or debuffs or grant/use any abilities. The mana cap is 20 only and this gives me limited monster units to be used in this battle. The only active elements to be used are Fire, Water, Earth and Dragon.

Cards Positions

Summoner: Pyre
The reason I used this summoner is because of the Ruleset Silenced Summoners and low mana cap. I need to conserve my mana by using a 3-mana cost summoner instead of 4. Unfortunately, I do not have a 2-mana summoner to be used in this battle.
Position 1: Living Lava
Living Lava is one of my decent tank in Fire element because of its Shield ability. It also has 2 armor to make it last longer in the battle. Even if there is no buff coming from my summoner, its stats are pretty decent compared to other cards. These make Living Lava a good tank for Position 1.
Position 2: RADIATED BRUTE
The star on this battle challenge will be at Position 2. For me, this is the perfect spot for this card because of its Reach ability wherein it can attack even though its on the second position only. And IF ever Living Lava was defeated in Position 1, my next tank will be this card. It has a good amount of 5 Health and 2 Melee Attack.
Position 3: Tenyii Striker
My last card on this battle is Tenyii Striker. While Living Lava and Radiated Brute are doing the damage upfront, Tenyii Striker's job is to do the damage to the opponent back line monsters because of its Sneak ability.

Did your strategy work?

Yes, my strategy worked and I won the battle. However, I think Radiated Brute's stats is not so okay compared to other cards with Reach ability. Its Speed is quite low and has very high chance to miss. Maybe because they turned to a zombie-like creatures, and we know the zombies are slow. 😅 Going back to Radiated Brute, it will be best to use this card if the Ruleset is Reverse Speed because it only has Speed of 1.

What will you try differently next time?

Given that the Ruleset is the same, I might want to try using the summoners Quix The Devious or Byzantine Kitty from Dragon Element. Quix will debuff the Speed of the enemy and will make Radiated Brute decrease its chance to miss. And Byzantine Kitty will make sure that Radiated Brute's attack will not miss because of its True Strike buff.
